I know nothing of web design, but I'm looking to put up a sleek and elegant website. I haven't done a ton of research but I know that many hosting companies will provide a variety of templates to choose from that I can customize once I get going.

Anyone have any suggestions for someone like me that wouldn't be able to actually do much, if any, actual website design but wants something sleek, simple and customizable(as far as uploading photos, changing text, etc..)?

I use hostgator.com for hosting. They are cheap and in one year's time I have had 0 downtime. They do have a free sitebuilder service. I haven't used it yet, but if you go to their website you can try the demo for free.
