The Jewish Autonomous Oblast (Russian: Евре́йская автоно́мная о́бласть, Yevreyskaya avtonomnaya oblast; Yiddish: ייִדישע אווטאָנאָמע געגנט, yidishe avtonome gegnt[12]) is a federal subject of Russia (an autonomous oblast) situated in the Russian Far East, bordering with Khabarovsk Krai and Amur Oblast of Russia and Heilongjiang province of China. Its administrative center is the town of Birobidzhan. Population: 176,558 (2010 Census).[8]
Soviet authorities established the autonomous oblast in 1934. It was the result of Joseph Stalin's nationality policy, which allowed for the Jews of the Soviet Union to receive a territory in which to pursue Yiddish cultural heritage within a socialist framework.[13] According to the 1939 population census, 17,695 Jews lived in the region (16% of the total population). The census of 1959, taken six years after Stalin's death, revealed that the Jewish population of the JAO declined to 14,269 persons.[14] As of 2002, 2,327 Jews were living in the JAO (1.2% of the total population), while ethnic Russians made up 90% of the JAO population. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_Autonomous_Oblast Oddly enough the Jews would rather settle in Israel than Siberia ![]() |

There have been some protests against illegal immigrants in Israel which have turned violent. It seems that when ever the economy goes down people like to find scape goats for all their problems. That said, yes, Israel has a right to control who enters their country but it needs to be done through the legal system and not via mob violence. |

I think Az provides a good analysis (for the most part).
I already pointed out one nit-pic. A second would be "wave of rape and sexual assault perpetrated by foreigners" as I've seen stats that seem to disprove that. A sensational headline or two does not make a "wave". What is obvious is that there is a sudden influx of large numbers of foreigners who are not legally entitled to state assistance or to hold jobs. This is bound to cause problems. |

I love how that Israeli dude in the video and people posting on other forums have commented that basically, Mexicans coming illegally into the US, boom headshot! So Americans have no room to talk about immigration. Where the hell did non-Americans get the idea that's what happens? |

Given that Israel exists only because the United States subsidizes its defenses and military forces, why don't we just make Israel the 51st state of the United States? |
