Have you experienced the joy of a mechanical keyboard?
And yes, now that the ESC key is red I use it far more than I should. It's just emotionally satisfying.

How is a mechanical keyboard different from any other?
Also, http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif no media keys. If it had those I might get it... |
My current keyboard lacks a numpad because my college desk is too small to fit both a full size keyboard and a bowl of cereal. It does, however, have media keys (specifically it has Fn key and the arrow keys correspond to stop, forward, back and play/pause)

"Mechanical" was a shitty word choice.
|
Uh, why?
Mechanical keyboards are called mechanical keyboards because they are the only keyboards that use a mechanical switch. |

The fact that it refers to the switch is not obvious.

HC, you're fighting against reality. They are called mechanical keyboards. If you wish, you can call them a "keyboards like those old IBM ones that make that nice *clunk* when you press a key".
|
I have a chiclet keyboard. I think it's just fine.
And no numpad? **** that. |

They make those, too. I just don't want one. Hell, one of my co-workers uses this keyboard: http://elitekeyboards.com/proddata/i..._th620x400.jpg |
I have one of those old keyboards at home but I can't find an adapter for the old plugs. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif
|
Usually not.

I always used the numpad with Civ 2.

Thank you Asher for letting me know about this. I have a few mechanical keyboards in my Amazon wish list... maybe one day I'll get one.
|
My mom used to have one. But I learned to type on Apple IIs, Tandys, IBMs, and NECs.
|
One handed keyboardist, eh?
