Breaking Bad. I watched the first episode on Netflix a few months ago, could not put it down, after finishing the first three seasons I picked up the fourth on Amazon about a week later. The show just gets better and better.

I only watched the first 6 of breaking bad, and just couldn't get into it. Was pretty boring.

So you are saying it gets better after that ? I might have to give it more of a chance. (the pilot was really good, but then it seemed to just go downhill so I stopped watching)

It gets way better, season 4 is nuts.

S4 of BB was insane!

I'd also recommend "The Unit". It was a top notch show, cancelled too soon.

I enjoyed it, but there isn't much depth to it. It's good popcorn TV.

I recommend Suits also. As DM says, it's not the most mind stretching series I've ever watched but well worth watching. Some very good humour in it and it definitely improves as the series goes on.

Agreed with most suggestions

- Breaking Bad (great overall)
- Dexter (plot writing sometimes gets a bit meh - but it's still awesome to watch IMO)
- Boardwalk empire (bit sopranos like, but '20s - good acting, deep story)
- Game of thrones (bit LOTR like, not as much fantasy but still swords etc - also good acting)
- Suits - lawyer stuff, enjoyable tv-show
- Entourage (different than most series as all actors play themselfs, jessica alba etcetc)
- Californication (TV show for men - watch if you wanna see hot chicks and boobs

story is OK )
- True blood (bit awkward sometimes being tv show with vampires and werewolfs - but enjoyable IMO)
- Sopranos (if you haven't seen it)

I really enjoyed it until season 5. It got a bit dull at that point.

I actually stopped watching after season 4 because I also thought it was dull. Then I just decided to watch season 5 and 6 after 1 year and thought it was enjoyable

Only for the first 3 seasons then it's starts repeating itself and jumping over sharks.

Plus the show is extremely jingoistic and right wing.

That's happened to me a few times. I tried watching Lost Girl once to see if it was anything worth watching and didn't make it half way through before looking for something new.

I've really been disappointed with the junk coming out of SyFy. Some of their older stuff is descent (Eureka, Warehouse 13, etc) but the new stuff is terrible.

And tho its old, the theme isnt and never feels like "old"
