I can't understand how this is happening.

Will be a sad day it closes.

Will this effect the F1 track as well? Or will they just sell off land?

But has almost half a bil in outstanding loans.

That's what I was thinking, someone is doing a horrible job managing the most popular and famous racetrack in the world.

Even well managed, traditionally very profitable businesses are struggling at the moment. Have none of you seen the state of the world's finances recently?

The 'ring is largely a hobby for people. Hobbies are the first thing to be put aside when money is tight.

With the track constantly raising prices I wouldn't be surprised.

Silverstone lost £900,000 on MotoGP. They make naff all on hosting F1. Racing tracks don't make (large sums) money.

Aleenkagirlla 07-19-2012 11:33 PM

Thing is the days are always 100% full, they never have empty "spots". So it can't be that

I for one agree with him, and Im a huge motor racing fan.

Nurburgring is pointless anyway, as a race track its fine cause its challenging but its irelevant to most. If it closes down maybe there will be less emphasis on setting up road cars on it. I wouldnt mind that.

I also agree with this. Any car that can handle the corkscrew at speed is going to be stiff as a brick on the road.

The Corkscrew is at Leguna Seca...

we used to go all the time on a BMW forum I frequent, and these Nuremberg meets have been scaled right back, due to the members not having enough money to go any more.

I do not agree with this. I WANT a track bred suspension, stiff ride doesn't bother me at all. I'd rather have it for that 10% time II might use it vs not having it for the 10% time I'd want it.

This concept is what led to the USA land yacht handling of the 70's.

I couldn't agree more.

I hate cars with slushy soft suspension, and on the roads around here you genuinely need a car that can handle twisty turns and mountain roads.
