It is the age where your legs start hurting after years of bartending.

Acu,

Some people are not satisfied with crafting beer for a living. I am not knocking it at all, but it is not an ideal path for everyone. Also, bartending is not the only occupation where you can save money and have the same outcome.

Plus, ****ing young, college girls is expense, even if they are already drunk. (Think about the wardrobe, movie collection, condoms, unlimited text messaging, etc.)

No disagreements here. My point was, more or less, to point out the "indoctrination" from youth to adulthood that prepares one to simply go out into the workforce and find some sort of fulfillment in working for someone else. Give those same people the opportunity and time to spend it with themselves, and they go out of their mind. Creativity, ingenuity, and fulfillment can come from anywhere, not just your place of work. In fact, most people's personal lives are a complete nightmare because their work consumes so much mental and physical energy, and they have nothing left to give after their 9-5 is completed. I'd rather be drinking out of a coconut in the fiji islands while others make money for me. One can dream, but I'll never give up on it. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/biggrin1.gif

$35k a year for college, huh? Go to a state college. Foreigners (many, European) don't seem to mind attending them.

California basically emulated Europe. And now we call them america's greece.
Emulated Germany? Norway? Sweden? Finland? Netherlands? Switzerland?

Lets see, your currency is imploding and when it does, the whole stack of cards your society is built around comes tumbling down. Do you read the papers? From what I read, you have less than three years. Best of luck.

So, you think the euro collapses and it won't bring the whole continent into a depression? Like I said, best of luck. Clock is ticking. Though, I am sure sweden's diversified economy will pull you through, lol.

Norway and Finland will do ok because of vast energy reserves compared to population, everyone else is effed. There is only so much you guys can buy from germany http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif, and when everyone else quits buying from them, they quit buying from everyone else. It will hurt the whole world, but it will hurt that continent like crazy. I'd be squirreling every penny away i could.

The tumble initiated by the colapse of the American dollar and banking - that they exported around the world with their toxic loans?

Going to bed, but real quick. The US pumped ~2 trillion into the world economy through AIG and other means. The Euro problem is because Greece, Italy, Spain, and Portugal borrowed money effectively against germany's credit that they could not afford. Unlike the US, Europe decided not to counter it 2 years ago when they should have, and now it is the slow drums of death for the Euro. This is a European problem caused solely by Euro's not telling the truth to each other and adding people to the Euro that never should have been, and not having the strong central controls necessary. It was doomed the day it began.

Intockatt 07-13-2012 05:30 PM

I know that, just winding you up - your economy contributed but certainly wasn't the cause*.

*Note, I honestly find it hard to believe the rest of the EC were/are prepared to continue pumping money into countries which not only have shown SFA interest in meeting their obligations, but that have already caused billions to be written off loans already made http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo.../confused1.gif

Should that be 'or' or 'nor'. I wonder about these things. I guess 'nor' would only fit if you'd said "I was neither complaining nor admonishing". In fact, that's far more eloquent. You should edit it.

Europe is in trouble, because they ignored basic economics. Its right-leaning governments chose austerity over stimulus, whereas the US, with its Liberal president and Congress (at least initially) chose stimulus.

Glad to see you're a liberal now Zed, never thought I'd see the day... you have an Obama 2012 sticker on your fender? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/biggrin1.gif
