Yep, from the Valencia thread:
Note "penalty", not "reprimand"
Reprimand counts as penalty in the context of the previous post, in the Valencia thread it was clear it meant real penalty (like I think I said there, they even changed the whole reprimand system because of Lewis)

Fun fact from auto, motor und sport magazine: between 2003 and today, the driver with who has broken most rules is Lewis Hamilton with 21 penalties + 13 tickets for speeding in the pits. Least penalties from current drivers is on Kimi Räikkönen with only 2 penalties + 13 tickets for speeding & being late on press briefing. They also mention Alonso has 11 penalties + 9 fines and Schumacher with 10 penalties and 13 fines
Yes but Kimi wasn't racing for a couple of years, so he would probably be leading the tickets for speeding and being late to press briefings. Not that anyone actually gives a crap about this stat.

And Lewis didn't come to drive 'till 2007 but they count since 2003 regardless

Exactly, it's a pointless stat...

P3 just started - nice and dry (mostly, as Kimi just found out!) at the moment and little chance of rain.

Time to invest in some proper tarmac car parks I think. It's a good job it's so popular here; British people will keep coming year after year regardless.
I don't know if you're watching the Sky coverage, but they just talked about this. They do have a lot of tarmaced carparks, but for the Grand Prix they hire fields from farmers too, and obviously you can't tarmac them. In the words of MB, "This is an 800 acre site, you can't tarmac the whole valley".

BTW what's Bernie got against Silverstone? They had an interview with him, and while he was sympathetic he did make it clear he wasn't a fan.

It's raining there right now, so probably.

So with little luck we could see Caterham or something on pole

Qualifying is on - seems mostly wet and there's some very messy driving and near misses already!

Buy the fields off the farmers. I'm sure it's possible. They don't need 800 acres surely, just create a sea of tarmac like a Disneyland car park. Or build a multi-story one

Terrific qualifying so far, might end up very unpredictable.

The farmers would probably object to that.

Jenson out!

Bloody Tim O'Glock cost Button a Q2 place there, I think he lost over 3 seconds in the last sector so must have backed out for yellows.

Problem isn't just the muddy fields - otherwise there'd be no problem when it was a dry race weekend, problem will also be the lack of feed roads and access to the parking ant rack.

Tough break for Button, but if he'd come in a lap earlier?

Anyway, time for a quick cuppa!

After 2000 they spent a load on improving access and upgrading the local roads. All was well, until this weekend. These are unusual conditions. Ths isn't the only event the weather's caused problems for.

Red flagged.

There is no problem if it's a dry weekend. OK, a bit slow to get parked, but this is the UK, it is at any event.

I agree with Gary Anderson, don't red flag and drive if you want at as fast as you're capable of. It's different to a race.
