Default "Do Not Call List" - USA
Anyone add themselves to this?

I added myself in probably March 2012 after getting one, maybe two spam calls on my cell phone ever. Since then, I have been getting about one a week.

Since then, I got Google Voice and I have been blocking these numbers and listing them as spam. But still, every few weeks or so I still get a spam text or phone call. :/

tl;dr: I have been getting more spam phone contact since signing up for the Do Not Call list.

Is it possible that spammers use this list to spam?

When I switched over to ATT the calls all a sudden starting coming in, I added myself to the do not call list and I havent gotten any more since. So i dont know why you are getting calls because for me it worked.
Also, wasnt telemarketing banned like in 2005 and made illegal to call without your consent??

It pisses me off that ATT would sell my number to those telemarketers..When I was with tmobile that never happened.

Maybe your number belonged to someone else before you go it? Someone that wasn't too careful with their information.

The more likely explanation is that on many, many male bathroom walls lives the legend "call Will for a good time".

I am surprised that you are allowed to use markers.

I never get calls. Well I did from the newspaper but asked them to take me off the list. No more calls.

Then our landline is private, not found in the phonebook, so we rarely get calls there too.

No, I just transferred the same number I had with tmobile.

Someone could have put a fake number into a website to avoid getting calls and picked yours.

I managed to randomly get a best buy promotion text yesterday about "winning." It subsequently wasn't from Best Buy, but it was the first I managed to receive in years.
