I don't want to tell anyone I told you so

I think Kimi will be happy though, Lotus-Renault have the pace to give him a championship this year. And the car is also the most flexible imo. it is fast in straight line, but still has good mechanical grip for slow circuits. Monaco is on the cards for them, only Webber who is brilliant at Monaco stands in the way perhaps.
But I did http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue1.gif

Going to be hard work for Vettel to make progress, same for Button and a few other contenders

Might make for an interesting few opening laps and I expect quite a few yellows to stuff up the tyre strategies

They're just showing delayed coverage of the GP@ race 2 - several crashes with at least ten retirements before a half lap was completed http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/blink1.gifhttp://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/excited1.gifhttp://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

Are you watching online or on NZ tv? We only get the F1 here in Aus.

Ankeseiband 05-26-2012 11:00 PM

On the SKY service we get - at a horrendously expensive cost, of course http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

http://www.skytv.co.nz/

12 finishers and 14 retired - wonder if that's an omen for tomorrow?

Qrhzbadu 05-27-2012 04:26 AM

Massive crash in GP3.

ffdfriendforurr 05-27-2012 11:55 AM

When I saw the heading "horror crash" I feared the worst, so relieved the driver is unharmed.

VEGLAS - SPB 05-27-2012 02:55 PM

Spectacular, rather than horror - too bad he didn't land on the a-hole blocking with the broken rear wing*!

*How did it get broken, the clips haven't shown that?

ibupronec 05-27-2012 03:40 PM

I suppose he is an a-hole depending on the circumstance, if it was the last lap then he had the right to defend. But if it wasn't then yes he was an a-hole.

Chito 05-27-2012 05:58 PM

yes, last lap, I'd be urging him on, but with 6/7 laps to go, and no chance of points or a good result, no excuse, IMO.
I suspect the crash occured because he had to brake much earlier to ensure it didn't break loose into oversteer over the rise and it just caught the following driver out as he'd still be under power.

uchetrip 05-27-2012 08:10 PM

THEY'RE OFF - and that very messy - safety car already!

kjsdiuwe 05-27-2012 09:17 PM

Is it me or has this been a pretty dull race so far? (fingers crossed for a good finish)

Apparently Pastor Maldonado is lucky to be racing at Monaco. At one point he was banned from the circuit "for life".

I was surprised how little was mentioned about the fire in the last thread. Do you all switch off as soon as the race is finished? I thought you were supposed to be F1 fans?

Also, I just saw what Schumacher did to Lewis at the last event. I see the guy's still a bit of a prat.
Actually yes, I switch off as soon as the races are over. Same with football. Talking about it is boring, but watching it is fun.

Zmniubqr 05-27-2012 09:36 PM

Going to be 6 for 6 if Webber doesn't do anything silly http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

Yeah, Monaco is a very challenging track for the drivers and teams but, as it's almost impossible to pass, can be rather boring for viewers.

RAIN? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/excited1.gif

Silly jensen and Kovi' was a bit of a hard man there http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

Six races, six winners!

I love the analysis, and hearing the opinions of the pundits, particularly if something controversial has happened. Also, I don't know what sort of coverage you get over there, but here we get a lot of technical information about the cars etc., and background info like that. I love that stuff.

Also, sometimes something unexpected happens after the race, and you hear what's going on if you keep tuned in.

85IbLcwQ 05-27-2012 09:54 PM

What a yawnathon. Did anyone actually overtake on track ? Pointless even having a DRS zone.

Unergerah 05-27-2012 10:08 PM

Really boring race, Monaco really is crap when most of the cars finish!

DRS at Monaco.... lololololol....http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

FelicitaJ 05-27-2012 10:56 PM

Must be noobs to F1 if you expect overtaking at Monaco http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif Webber did a great job in keeping the concentration going and not putting into the wall, a very easy thing to do when in front (even Senna). And my bets paid off http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/excited1.gif I laid $5 on Webber to win at 30-1 and $20 on Massa to finish top six at 7-1 (thank you Lewis for that bad start and the resulting effect of Grosjean going out).So who will win in Canada? Surely a 7th different winner isn't possible? Although Massa did look far better this weekend, being faster than Alonso at times, and Ferrari have traditionally been good at Canada....--- Post Update ---

Koby trying the only way possible to overtake at Monaco

bpejjssoe 05-27-2012 11:06 PM

Martin getting dragged into the pool during an interview with Webber! One ruined microphone! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

Angry White American 05-28-2012 01:07 AM

And once again Lotuses tactic geniuses ruined yet again once race for Kimi, should be fired, whoever was responsible for it http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/mad1.gif

MYMcvBgl 05-28-2012 04:56 PM

Nothing wrong with the tactics, it worked brilliantly for Vettel as he actually had pace unlike Kimi. Had the rain come Vettel, Kimi and Button would have been in a position they had no right to have after qual.

Kimi has no one to blame but himself for stuffing around on thursday complaining about the steering and never getting the car up to speed all weekend. Grosjean had no troubles with the original ratio, and was set for a good race if he didn't find himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It also looks like Renault have more issues with getting the super softs to work over one lap compared to the other teams. I think they will be in the hunt in Canada though. Problem is so will Ferrari, McLaren (well Hamilton anyway) and Williams (Maldonado, not Bruno). Red Bull has never been good at Canada, and I don't think the Merc will like it either (a hunch more than an educated guess).
