Default What kind of insect is this?
I saw one of these at an old house a few years ago... Never knew what it was. Nasty thing. Stumbled upon a random picture of it today but they didn't name what it was either! Can anyone help?

If you knock it with something their legs fall off. Kind of sad and cool at the same time. I believe they eat spiders, would you rather have these guys or spiders?

It's not any kind of insect. Insects have six legs.

Spiders eat flies, so I'd rather have a spider than that huge thing.

They eat insects. A fly is an insect. I'm guessing it can tuck a few of them away as well.

Ninjapede. Those things will devour all the little nasties in your house, but they creep me out. I'd rather have a spider chilling in the corner minding his own business than this guy sprinting across my walls. But if you have a bug problem he'll be your exterminator.

Spiders definitely creep me out less than centipedes and millipedes.

8 legs okay, 8 Legs + is not okay.

I used to leave these guys (centipedes) alive since I know they're voracious insectivores. They even eat spiders, pretty awesome. They're not the most visually pleasing, but I know they can't really do anything to me and they are overall beneficial.

It may often be seen darting across floors with very great speed, occasionally stopping suddenly and remaining absolutely motionless, presently to resume its rapid movements, often darting directly at inmates of the house, particularly women, evidently with a desire to conceal itself beneath their dresses, and thus creating much consternation
LOL. Priceless.

yeah those guys are pretty frequent in the coastal region of my country..I remember once taking a vacation with my parents in a house that was FULL of em..at night I could see random dark spots rushing across the wall, it creeped the hell out of me

I see one from time to time in my apartment, they are not so bad once you get to know them
