Just watched it. It has some influences that I like, stuff you can easily recognize from the Caen brothers or Quentin Tarantino, and a lot of things from older movies I don't necessarily know. But I found it hard to accept the mix of The Driver's quick-on-his-feet badassery on the one hand, and his autistic behavior around people on the other. It's hard to like a movie that just decides, out of the blue, that anything can kill anyone, but that the hero is incapable of being hurt no matter how much of his blood you spill. Stab to the guts? Just walk it off, because this cool heist movie has slowly turned into a comic book hero movie... Doesn't really work for me.

Inspired, but not inspiring.

Except Gosling's dialogue in the movie was horrible.
I don't think he was trying to make you cum like he did in the Notebook.

That should have worked then! I gave that sock to her.

And when he does, I'm sure it was showing 17 minutes on the clock before there was even any dialogue for him, must've got paid more per word than Arnie in Terminator lol

Yeah but so what if there is no dialogue, it was done to set the mood of the film.

Have you ever seen To live and die in LA ?

Except that he stares, wide-eyed and responds like a mongoloid. If the mood of the film was a PSA announcement for autism, then I give it a 5/5.

Shawshank Redemption
Bladerunner
Gladiator
The Green Mile
Predator
Brotherhood Of The Wolf (watched in subtitles)
Nikita (watched in subtitles)
Beauty & The Beast
Once Upon A Time In The West
The Crow
28 Weeks Later
Kick Ass
The Rock
Rocky IV
Insomnia (Pacino Version)
RoboCop
The Prestige
The Terminator
Sunshine
The Wrestler
Only two of those are worth a damn.

Do you know how on facebook profiles where people often list their favorite books they mostly include the standard high school texts and random assortment of teen-lit crap? Your movie list reminds me of this. It's not without some merit, but you really need to be exposed to more films before your views on cinema can be taken seriously.

The moment you realize no one really cares about your opinion is the moment people will take you seriously.

Sorry yeah, meant 28 Days Later, the sequels decent but not a patch on the first film.

Love it how pompous people on this thread think they know all about films (and most are only still in their teens rolf) and also can't understand that the list I produced (like I stated) is a list of films I'd take to a desert island NOT the list fo films I think are the best ever made e.g. Schinlders List is one of the best films ever made, so is Citizen Kane... would I take to a desert Island? Nope rofl. Still, once they can learn to read I'm sure they'll understand.
