The March 16 Executive Order is based on the Defense Production Act of 1950, as amended (50 U.S.C. App. 2061 et seq.), and Section 301 of Title 3 of the United States Code, and reads as a near-verbatim restatement of President Bill Clinton's 1994 Executive Order 12919, and several other orders of prior presidents. No specific plan was every outlined based any of the enabling Executive Orders. Seems like a bunch of sensationalism as other presidents have issued the very same executive order. To be fair this is not true.... The mainstream media will actually down play most things because they are in the pockets of large corporations etc. If there is a problem likely to cause mass hysteria they will downplay it not make it worse.

One of the interesting things I learned about while I was deployed to Iraq was just how much selective news the media reports on. There was a lot of good things happening in Iraq because of the US Military, but all you really heard about primarily was the negative stuff.

That's because considering how horribly managed and delivered the Iraq invasion was, it's hard to notice good things when the majority of things look like a complete mess.
