Cool Optical illusion.
This is well cool...
1. Stare at the red dot on the girl’s nose for 30 seconds 2. Turn your eyes towards the wall/roof or somewhere else on a plain surface 3. Keep blinking your eyes quickly! 4. What can you see? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...41157384_n.jpg I'd love to know how this works, just too tired to find out. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/blush1.gif |
Same affect as looking at a bright light and then closing one's eyes.
The brain (eye?) gets used to processing colours and when they're taken away the affect is an image that's the negative of what was being looked at. Perhaps someone can explain it better? It's also the source of the 'green flash' at sunset - the sudden absence of the orange Sun gives a green after image. |
Thats weird. It like a woman materializes on the ceiling and then fades away.

That's pretty cool. [thumbsup]

Afterwards I stared at my bed and jumped on it.
Hmmm.....I am still seeing it 2 minutes later. Much fainter than before. Also I didn't do the blinking thing. Is this normal? |

Tricking the eyes is cool.
One of the tricks we learned in grade school and was still cool in JR High was this: Stand in a narrow space, just wide enough for you to stand with your arms at your side. now, without bending your elbows push your arms out to the side against the wall. Keep this up with a high effort for about 45-60 seconds. Then step out of the small area and let your arms relax. The crasiest thing is that when you relax your arms will start to rise on their own. I've shown kids this and not told them the outcome, and when their arms start to rise on their own the kids freak out and then go show other kids. |
