themed episodes

am I the only one who can't stand the super cheesy themed tv show episodes during holiday season (halloween, thanksgiving and christmas).. It would be one thing if it were snowing or smthg for some episodes, but they always have to make it sooo cheesy with santa and the reign dears or the big turkey for thanksgiving.[no] ok rant over

Sounds like you watch some bad TV. No offense intended.

haha well could be.. I watch a lot of tv shows and some seem to pull that crap all the time (mostly comedies)..
I had to "pleasure" of watching to worst episode of Eureka ever which is normally entertaining enough.. They made a cartoon episode for christmas.... I mean seriously?? I know the show is cheesy, but that was just dumb
Also the show "community" had a stop motion clay characters episode for christmas once..
what's the deal

The worst is when networks have theme week. I think Fox had a theme were all there shows had to have a song and dance number (only the show '24' was excluded I believe).

exactly..

It feels way too forced.. Imagine Jack Bauer interogating a terrorist and saying HO HO HO time's running out. I'm gonna send you to the artic if you don't give me that information I need.
Now this is a really stupid example of course, but some tv shows actually do "jump the shark" and pull off that crap. Some to the extend that I don't feel like watching the show anymore.. Eureka got close

Bundy Christmas and Roseanne Hallowe'en were good theme episodes. I guess I'm dating myself a bit here.

The community Christmas episode last year was awesome!
