You got it.

If it is legalized the price will skyrocket.

Can you just imagine the scale of the "sin taxes" on pot??

Geez.

I disagree.

I have never smoked and support legalization.

Only for American grown weed, right now, or other countries where it is legalized.

JM
So wine and beer, you feel the same way? It must be produced in the USA? That's fine with me.

I disagree.
Why? I think the alcohol and cigarettes examples would hold for pot as well. Taxes will make the price go up drastically.

What makes you think price will go the other way?

Looks like the only FACT here is you don't know what you're talking about.

I mean, I even support MJ legalization, and I don't think it is good for people to use it.

JM
(Not that I am going to complain, really, it is just as bad as smoking tobacco.)

I wouldn't touch marijuana with a 30 foot pole and a hazmat suit. Regardless, making it illegal is pointless and stupid. While marijuana harms your lungs in much the same way cigarettes do, the most dangerous risk you take with marijuana is it being laced with other drugs like crack. If legalized, two things would happen: Many violent drug gangs would suddenly "go out of business", and you would be able to buy marijuana in a store where you know what you're getting. And the government would be able to collect tax revenue. Everyone wins.

That it's illicitness contributes to a higher price because it can't be produced as cheaply if it were legal.

Yes, I'm not a (current) smoker.

What has been said. Alcohol and tobacco are on the same level, health-wise.

Do you believe that or are you just making the argument?

We have no problem with supply in this country. In fact, I haven't seen a price increase in 20+ years now.
Im making an argument. From the perspective of costs to the government, legalization would be a boon. Let's not even factor in the revenue.

Yeah, selling crack at pot prices would be a bad business decision.

While I know nothing about the drug trade--I've given ample evidence of this before--could there be a benefit to cutting it with just a little of something more addictive, maybe get the user more interested in your product and increase demand? Just talking out my ass here...

I know little of the crack trade but my perception is that is an expensive drug relative to pot.

Can you cut it fine enough to be a cheap additive with enough 'kick' for the user to want more?

I haven't encountered it personally and at my age you would think I would have seen it at some point. Again.
Pot dealers, by and large, dont think about upselling to another harder drug.

Have you done any research on the expense incurred by illegally supplying?

When I sold weed I was not trying to get my customers hooked on crack. I was trying to sell enough weed to reup before I smoked all my profits up. That's reality.

Smoke weed everyday, kids.
