I'm afraid Proton smells like bad eggs on this one. Waiting for a guy to build a team off the floor and bring the Lotus brand back to F1 only to try and steal their thunder by buying the Renault team?

Not that I'd ever buy a Proton, but surely they realise that F1 fans are pretty educated about the sport and almost every commentator is going to comment on this sleazy move. On top of that Tony Fernandes is going to have a media field day, he already announced Team Lotus would be going with Black and Gold at Abu Dhabi.

Do you guys think it's a bad PR move too?
