I bought a new-ish tennis racquet instead of a new driver. Still might look at something later this season. I need to see how my wrist feels hitting the ball before I do anything. I don't know how that rotation will feel with the break and all.

I just bought the Ping I20. I hit them all before I bought something.

Have you hit the TM R11S? If you like the rbz, I would make sure you hit the R11S prior to buying. I hit the R11S a bit better than I did the rbz.

I hit them both about the same on the range, but I hit the rbz better on the course. And the rbz is $100 cheaper.

Demoed it again yesterday with a different loft setup and not as good. My regular drivers have always been a 9.5 loft and I tried a 9.5 with the Rocketballz and it went straight up in the air. Carried far, but no farther than my regular Burner and on a higher trajectory with absolutely no bounce forward, even on the hard fairways. I guess I'll try the 9 again to see if it is the way to go.
I am also going to try a new Callaway.

a buddy of mine bought a 9° that I want to give a shot. I really need to try the driving range first. I don't know if my wrist can rotate that way.

I ended up buying a 9.5 degree. One thing to know is that when you deloft the club, it opens the face slightily. If you increase the loft it closes the clubface slightly. My normal ball flight is a bit of a cut, but when I put this club at 10 degrees I am able to hit a bit of a draw.
I hit it even longer today than I did the first day I tried it. Could have easily had three birdies down the stretch, hitting my irons great, as the lesson I took a couple of weeks ago started kicking in. I shot even par over the last 7 holes today, with 5 pars a birdie and bad 3-putt bogie.

I don't demo anything, it is just a tease. I just go and buy the fucker.

I did hit a buddy's Big Bertha Fusion with a 8.5° face. I loved it, so now I am looking for a 8.5° driver. I should just go for a 9° and be happy.

Default Rocketballz
I played today and demoed the new TaylorMade Rocketballz driver.

OMG. I'm going to have to make an investment.

Those are my distances, as well. I played yesterday also, but attributed the extra distance I had to the dry, harder fairways.
I'm working on a new swing that probably contributed to a degree when I did it right, but there is no question the club was a factor. You can just feel the initial ball speed off the club. I'm going to try it with a little more loft next time to see if I get extra carry.

Demo-ing a club is like dating a woman, it always goes right. Buying a club is like marrying the same woman, it's all over after the purchase.

The club has adjustable lofts. I usually hit a driver with 9.5 loft but I had this one adjusted to 9 degrees. The club is the lightest golf club I've ever swung and you can feel the impact off the face of the club. Very forgiving, but the yardage advantage was startling. At least 20 yards more than my Burner. I can hit it 250 on a good day, and I average around 230. I was hitting it over 240 all day and one went at least 260.
