Default Forum Testing Signup - Pro Mental Coach
At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by the wonderful forum members and we have another new testing project. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing.

The Item
Pro Mental Coach – Golf
MSRP: $139.95

http://promentalcoach.com

· Unique interactive software created by a team of neuroscientists to exercise brain muscles
· Brings to the masses mental training used by PGA Tour pros
· Proven to significantly enhance on-course performance by addressing most common areas of mental weakness (concentration, endurance, confidence, etc.)
· Adjusts difficulty level in real time according to user performance
· Officially in use at PGA Center for Golf Learning & Performance
· Takes only one hour per week and can be done at home (PC and Mac compatible)

Criteria
You must be able to play golf (either on course, driving range or indoor facility).
3 Forum Members will be selected to participate.
If selected, shipping is free for Albatross Club members only.
If you are not a member & would like to become one, click here.

Testing Process
If selected it will be your job to test the "coach" out (minimum of once per week) and update the official testing thread with feedback on your findings. You must be on the forum to answer questions throughout the testing period as well as discuss the software thoroughly. This is long term testing and will need updates for a period of a couple of months. If you are looking for info on what forum testing feedback should look like, check out the forum testing example thread here.

To participate you must be an active forum member or become an active forum member. Being active on THP has its benefits and product testing is one of them (monthly testing like this). If you are new, that is okay, being active is more than just tenure.

Rules
This is not a contest, so there really are no rules. All we ask is that you make a post in this thread and answer these questions. Please have an answer to all questions and be specific.

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot?
2. Do you struggle with putting?
3. Have you ever tried a mental coach?
4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP?

Keep in mind if you are not chosen for this, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future here at THP for testing and other product trials. Stay active and you will have a chance to be part of these awesome testings we do here.

Newsletter
If you sign up for the free THP Digital Newsletter that hits your inbox each month, you could find out about testing before anybody else. You can sign up by clicking on the Newsletter tab at the top of the page.

Wow!

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot?
Not really, mainly because I have really low expectations. A lot of the time I dont believe I can pull the shot off so I feel lucky when it does happen. Confidence is something I am trying to work on to help my golf game.

2. Do you struggle with putting?
I do. I struggle getting into a rhythm on the greens.

3. Have you ever tried a mental coach?
I have not, although after playing with TC he has said that I needed one. I took a Sports Psych class once in University.

4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP?
Yes I do. I have 100 posts in September already and that pace is not something that will slow down.

Thanks THP and Pro Mental Coach.

Interesting product. I'll give it a shot.

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot? Depends on the shot. I'm more likely to be upset at missing with a wedge than a driver.
2. Do you struggle with putting? At times I do, though I feel like I've improved.
3. Have you ever tried a mental coach? No, but I've read a number of books regarding the subject.
4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP? Yes I do.

Wow, what a very cool opportunity! Never saw this one coming but excited to see how this one goes.

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot? For about 10 seconds as I analyze what went wrong, but typically I quickly overcome any lasting frustration about it.
2. Do you struggle with putting? No, I don't believe so. Consider myself an average putter.
3. Have you ever tried a mental coach? No, I have not.
4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP? Yes, I do.

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot?
Like a farmer chasing a corn snake out of his barn!

2. Do you struggle with putting?
Now this one is really funny. You mean like setting a record for three putts during my local club championship on Sunday!

3. Have you ever tried a mental coach?
I'd feel sorry for the fool! Nope I have not had much mental coaching except for grade school.

4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP?
Yep. Pretty much every day

This is really neat. I like that you can log-in and share your thoughts and results with a PGA golf instructor as well with this. It seems really comprehensive which is always a good thing when it comes to golf instruction. Thank you THP for another great testing opportunity and thank you to Pro Mental Coach for allowing 3 lucky THP'ers to test this out.

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot? Depends on how the round is going but bad shots tend to snowball for me so I guess subconsciously I do.
2. Do you struggle with putting? Depends on the day. I am a very streaky putter.
3. Have you ever tried a mental coach? I have read various books on golf and the mental aspect but that is all.
4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP? Yes

After viewing the site and checking out the Demo video I really think this is something that could help a TON of golfers, myself included.

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot? I would say this happens to me sometimes. I try not to let my emotions get the best of me, but sometimes I get upset and it does effect me going forward. I feel that if I could quickly get over a bad shot that it would help lower my scores.
2. Do you struggle with putting? It has been well documented on this site that I have been struggling with my putting. I have been 3-putting 3 and 4 times every 18 holes and it is killing my goal to become a single digit handicap.
3. Have you ever tried a mental coach? I have not tried a mental coach. I think it could be beneficial to me, but I have never myself tried one.
4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP? I do consider myself an active poster. I ask questions in testing threads and spend a good chunk of my day on the site.

Thanks to and Pro Mental Coach for this awesome opportunity. The people selected for this opportunity will be receiving what seems to be an awesome program which will help them with the mental aspect of golf.

What a great testing! This is something that I need to work on more than anything else in golf, thank you to THP and ProMentalGolf

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot? Not normally after a bad shot, but I do get really down on myself and mad over a good shot that turns out poorly. It can ruin the rest of my round.

2. Do you struggle with putting? Yes, Yes, Yes, I'm currently working hard at it, but yes.
3. Have you ever tried a mental coach? No, this is not something I've ever tried.
4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP? Yes, I'm here every day, and try to contribute.

very interesting product looking forward to the reviews, I'm sitting this one out due to the time that will need to be spent focusing on the Anser testing, but looking forward to seeing how this pans out

What a great opportunity!

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot?
Yes, I'm relatively prone to continue struggling after a bad shot. I like to think I don't but I do because I know I can do better.

2. Do you struggle with putting?
You bet I do. That is the weakest part of my game right now by a lot and is really holding me back.

3. Have you ever tried a mental coach?
No I have not.

4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP?
Yes I do.

Thanks to THP and Pro Mental Coach for this awesome opportunity!

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot? I try not to, but it happens
2. Do you struggle with putting? Sure do
3. Have you ever tried a mental coach? My only mental coach is Johnnie Walker. Which isn't always helpful
4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP? Yes, but to be fair, I don't have many rounds of golf left this season.

Interesting. I'm a bit on the fence about stuff like this.

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot?

Not really. They happen. To me it's a part of being an amateur golfer.

2. Do you struggle with putting?

Some times. I'm either really hot or really cold, I can never just be consistently luke warm.

3. Have you ever tried a mental coach?

Nope. The only form of counselling I've ever experienced is marriage counselling, LOL

4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP?

Yes I do. I lurk and read more but prefer to comment when I feel like I can add something to the conversation

In all seriousness, I believe that being active is being interACTIVE! I do that part quite well. I might be the most popular unpopular person on THP. It's a weird spot to be.

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot? At times yes, because I know I can do better then whatever horrible shot I just hit.
2. Do you struggle with putting? I do struggle with the knee knockers when the pressure in on. I don't seem to know why. In just normal play, they are fine. But in tournaments, I have to back off and restart.
3. Have you ever tried a mental coach? No. I have read several books because I know it is a problem.
4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP? I do. I post on here regularly. I just eclipsed the 3 posts per day on my profile, which to me is significant. I have attended gatherings of THPer's and will be attending both days of the THP Tour Van event in Atlanta.

Pretty cool product. I like the commercials too. Thanks for the opportunity!

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot? Depends on how bad of a shot it is! Nah not really, but I can get down when the round has just taken a turn for the worse.
2. Do you struggle with putting? I think so. I don't make enough putts that I believe I should make.
3. Have you ever tried a mental coach? Nope, but I have read some mental golf books.
4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP?Yes, I'm here pretty much every day talking golf and everything else.

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot? Well, not exactly. After a really bad shot, even if I'm not "down on myself" my game kinda comes unglued. After 2 or 3 bad shots fairly close together I do get pretty down on myself.

2. Do you struggle with putting? Sometimes, but it is because I really suck at reading greens.

3. Have you ever tried a mental coach? Nope.

4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP? I do. I try to contribute to conversations and give the occassional mini-review.

I'd love to test this product out, I firmly believe that a strong mental game is every bit as important as a strong physical game.

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot? At times I do, when I know I have the ability to hit certain shots but something breaks down either mechanically or mentally I do get a bit frustrated. Usually not for long though.

2. Do you struggle with putting? I sure do on occasion. I tend to be what I'd consider an above average putter but I'm really streaky at times.

3. Have you ever tried a mental coach? I've read one book written by Bob Rotella, other than that. No

4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP? Yes

Thanks THP and Pro Mental Coach. Good luck to everyone applying for this testing opportunity.

This is a great looking product I am excited to hear about during the testing. Thank you THP and NeuroActive!

1. Do you get down on yourself after a bad shot?
Sometimes if it has been consistently bad that day but can usually brush it off within the next few shots.

2. Do you struggle with putting?
Putting is something I do not give enough attention to and therefore I struggle. I always feel I can putt better than the rest of my game but my putting is so sporadic it is obvious I am lying to myself.

3. Have you ever tried a mental coach?
I have not tried one and haven't even looked into them until now.

4. Do you consider yourself an active poster on THP?
yes, It is a great community I enjoy being involved and active with in all aspects.
