Worst/best round
So I'm golfing with Mr. Kobe on Friday. Course we've never played before. I'm playing like shit on the front 9. Throw my 5 wood after hitting into the shit, losing the ball on 6. On 7, I hit into the shit again and when I called for my mulligan ball, it bounced past me, off the platform tee box and into the shit. When I recovered the ball and tee'd off, I put it in the sand. I walked off the hole and went towards 8. Walked the wrong way down the cart path and had to backtrack. Hit into the water on 8 and quit that hole as well. Completely derailed on 9 when I hit into the trees off the tee box...actually teared up in frustration.
Went to the bathroom at the turn and came out and played the best 9 holes I've ever played...42, which was 6 over. Goddamn amazing game that you can play your worst 9 holes and follow it up with your best 9 holes within an hour of each other. I both hate and love golf. |
49/36-85.
I was ready to walk off the golf course and then birdied 10. More impressive though was my 53/41-94 at Pine Valley. I was sure that I wasn't going to break 100. I was soooo frustrated that I was letting my opportunity to play that wonderful course become a bad experience. We had a rain delay and was able to get my head back on straight and played the course on the back nine instead of letting the course play me. Next time (if there is a next time) I'll break 90 easy. It is very penal if you are a little off, but it is generally fair and playable if you hit the fairways, which are huge. |
had similar event but it was opposite,
front 9-very good (for me) back 9-awful the low point was the teeing off on 16th. Tee off...right into the woods....tee off again...into the woods, bounced off a tree, into the crick. Tee'd off again, this time into the tree's on the otherside of the course. Tee'd off again, bounced of the cart path and into the crick. Tee'd off again...topped it and it went about 15 yards past the ladies tees (no, i did not tee off from the ladies tee's)...finally gave up and played that ball. managed to lose 4 balls on one hole. 10-15 weren't so good, but 16 was well. Was golfing w/ my manager. AFter that he always reminded me anytime he had a bad day he just to remember me teeing off on 16 and it always made him laugh. A year later I gave up golf |
I've gotten three 87's this year in similar fashion.
38/49 50/37 40/47 Same course. |

not striking the ball well at all on the front 9. low point was losing 2 balls on my approach to the 8th green. yes, 2 balls, lost them attempting to hit onto the green from about 100 yards out. front 9 shot a 57. went into the clubhouse at the turn, pissed, got a snack and went to 10, medium par 5. just missed sinking my approach for an eagle (according to the ground crew working around the green it rolled within 2 inches of the cup) and it rolled to the fringe. putted in from there for a birdie. 11 was a par 3, stuck it about 3 feet from the cup for another birdie. 12 was a long par 4 on the green in 2, missed the birdie putt. that continued for most of the back 9 i wasn't really paying attention to my total. at the end it was tallied and i ended up with a 40 on the back 9. |
Worst round- to numerous to mention.....
Best round- On a very nice course in Myrtle Beach- 90 based on the amount of golf I get to play, basic bogey golf is all I can ask for........ |
