Default New Driver Opinions
Im looking to get a new driver, i currently hit an old 8.5 Titleist 985 E grafalloy x-stiff shaft and I think its time for a change..I tend to hit a lower degree as i get a high trajectory on my drives. 8.5 Degree would probably be the highest id go but I really haven't "demo'd" much as i was out of the game for a bit. I got on this trip as the other day and hit a G5 9 degree my friend had. I hit it well but it ballooned, which i expected. Now it could very well be the shaft but it was effortless and i hit the shit out of it. Recently ive talked to Puke about this and ive narrowed my selection down to an TM R7, Titleist 907 D2 or 905 R/S or Possibly the Ping G5. I plan on going out and testing them all but, but am curious what your opinions are on the new stuff compared to the old clubs. As Ive seen some of you have made the move to the newer clubs...

My wife just took me shopping for my birthday present.

I was really excited to check out the Cleveland Hibore, I hit it ok, I was getting about 230 yds with a pretty consistent grouping down the middle of the fairway.

However, I ended up buying the Taylor Made Burner. I was consistently hitting a little draw with it and getting 240-255 yds.

I was happy to find out my swing speed was a little better than I thought, I was expecting about 80, it was between 95 and 101.

Then I became deflated, a kid was hitting the ball around 330 yds with a swingspeed of 115....fucking kids.

Another vote or the HiBore XL here (the one with the Fujikura shaft, not the gold crap--when testing I noticed there was a difference). Someone above mentioned a Burner...I snapped mine less than a month after I got it. Never again.
