Default To Golf or Not To Golf
My buddies are playing at 10. It's supposed to be high 40's by then. The rain looks like it's going north of us. My wife is sick, but I'm not a doctor.

Stay home and take care of your wife. It's a nice thing to do and it's a great excuse not to golf in that weather.

Look for a sign, something to tell you it is alright to go.

It is supposed to getup to 60 today, too bad I haven't swung my clubs in a year or so.

It seems as if your buddies golf often on weekdays.

Are they self employed?

Retired?

A little of each. There's always a game at Crab Orchard Golf Club.

Then you should go play golf. You don't want to catch whatever your wife has.

I would try to comfort the wife and work on the house personally, but I'm not the right guy to ask.

I don't care for golf, and 40 would be too cold for me to be outside for that long.

I don't know if this is breaking the rules or not, and I assure you all I have no affiliation with this company, but I bought this book a couple weekends ago:

http://www.enjoymentbook.net/

It's basically a big book of coupons. I've seen it in Chicago before...Basically a local entertainment/dining thing...Cool thing about it (and why I brought it up) is that it has about 50 buy one get ones of golf green fees for almost all the courses in my area and the book costs about $35.

That's a lot of savings....Not to mention all the buy one get ones on dining....The thing pays for itself no doubt...although they are localized so if you buy it it is only for those places (including chains) that are in your area...

Nonetheless....

This is a palatable idea...but you should bring her something nice back ryr-like soup or something...or the next little thing you do to irritate her the "abandonment clause" will be invoked.

Personally, I prefer to be alone when I'm sick. But that depends on the person. Will you be keeping her up by tooling around the house while she's trying to rest?

If so, I'd go and like Jiddy said, bring back some soup or something. If not, or if she is seriously ill to the point a doctor's visit is necessary, then stay home.

But on the other hand, you've been complaining about all the golf lately, so maybe it is time for you to stay home...

Or you could just throw your wife in the golf cart with you and a cup of chicken noodle.

Win win.

I'm re-energized after playing with the asst. pro yesterday. We both shot 79, and my putter is on fire. 2 birdies.

I bombed a few drives out there right next to him too. I only missed 4 fairways all day.
