phil just wanted to win so badly he didn't want a playoff. Had he hit a "safer" shot more towards the fairway for his second shot, v. trying to hit a high cut over the trees, he could have left himself a wedge shot to a hole that had a funnel effect. Phil was on with his wedges all day. I understand that's why he hit his third shot (8 iron over the trees into the bunker) that way, because he needed to get that on the green, but it didn't make sense to hit that risky of a shot for his 2nd shot. |

vandevelde was worse. The other golfers were willing to give it to him, but his pride got the best of him I think. He wanted to 'win' it, not just have it given to him. Duh! |
