Tiger will have all the niches he will ever need....BUT, the most important niche for actually bringing in the droves: TALENT, will always be there....even if he is a "jerk" "egomaniac" "anti-luvda" etc...

I went to the Ryder Cup, last year, believe me, he isn't hated as much as you think. Most can understand that he is extremely competitive. So he slips and swears. I have seen Basketball, football, baseball hockey tennis players all swear on court infront of a mic b4. The guy is loved, the guy is hated. I don't condone some of his actions, but look at it this way. Jordan used to yell at his teammates, and call them out. Say that he would never give them the ball in the last minutes of the game (cartwright). Tiger swears. It could be worse, he could be like that gay spaniard Sergio Garcia, who rumor has it, has never missed a putt. It has always been his caddie that misread it. Prolly why he goes thru caddies by the dozen.

Tiger swears. And I could really care less about the swearing, the thing that bothers me is his tantrums. Throwing his clubs, raking the greens with his feet and putter. Those incidents are the ones that make me dislike him. I don't think you can use the Ryder Cup to figure out if a player is loved or hated though, everyone is rooting for the either the Americans or the Europeans...not this player or that player. I also have heard the rumors that other players don't like Phil, but I've never seen anything in actual print or during an interview. If someone knows of more info, I'd like to see it, until I do it's still just a rumor. And regardless of his (overly exagerated) man boobs, who cares? His wife is still hotter than Tigers.

I'd like to see you do better on those holes down the stretch. Last I checked, I'm not a professional golfer...or the #1 ranked player in the world. No one would expect me to do better on those holes, not me, you, the media...anybody. The media hypes Tiger so much that just about EVERYONE expects him to do better than what he did on those holes. Face it, he CHOKED. He felt the pressure and gave in to it, Campbell more than answered everything Tiger could throw at him.

I haven't read this whole thread, and tiger should be held to a higher standard, but damn if there hasn't been times I've been absolutely seething on the golf course. And I'm as calm, even-keeled a person as they come... outside of golf. You get me on the golf course and my personality takes a 180. Either to giddy if i'm playing well, furious if i'm playing bad.

I agree, I definitely wouldn't expect that from Toms. I know Davis has gotten into it a couple of times with fans though.

But you still think he's not as big of an asshole as Tiger, right? Not as big of an asshole, dumbass...yes. When Tom Watson was the captain for the Ryder Cup he elected not to choose Daly because in his opinion Daly is a quitter. He always has been, but he was also never hyped anywhere near the extent that Tiger is. Tiger is a prick, and yes he is the MOST fined player on the tour, you just don't hear about it because the PGA doesn't promote it. He has been fined several times for his behavior and foul language.
