It's all about equality. I see no reason he can't.

You know, the principle is correct, IMO. I'm not sure if i'd do it if I was him, given van de velde's current status as a punchline.

However, there is a point to be made about earnings. Let's say 5 women qualify... that means 5 guys who could have made money by being in the tournament don't get that chance. And the men don't have a chance to go elsewhere and win some money.

Women should play on the women's tour and men on the mens. Until a woman completely dominates her own tour (i.e. sorenstam) they need to stick to their own tour.

I'm sorry, but I've never heard of the MPGA.

Anyone remember Renee Richards? Decent tennis player that decided to get a sex change operation and then join the women's tour. This guy can try that route.

Reminds myself of a good joke. Renee Richards has written a new book: Tennis without balls.

Those 5 guys could have had a chance to make money by being in the tournament if they had beaten those 5 women .......... They didn't.

Their major gripe is that they are getting in with sponsor exemptions and not playing their way in. Its just too bad money rules the game and those 5 guys just have to play better to be in.

If it's a sponsor's exemption then I can understand better the bitching. I just saw "qualify" ...

Btw, I saw this thread title and thought it was about the asshole reporter who got Wie disqualified. I couldn't find a thread on that. Surely there must have been one???

Me either... have you heard of the LPGA?

I've also seen that the best woman golfer in the world playing on a course that would be easiest for her to make the cut on a PGA event... didn't.

www.lpga.com It just baffles me why a guy at the top of the game would want to make a move down to what they say is an inferior field of players. I guess while he's at it though he can go and rip shit up on the Nationwide tour and show those guys that are working to get into the tour a thing or two.
