usually i go as low as a 5 iron. after that, it's the 7 wood. i can control it so much better than 3 and 4 irons. and i can juice it if i have to.

Default 7-9 Woods
I always thought they were only for people that couldn't hit their long irons. But then I see the #1 player in the world (Vijay, NOT Tiger) using his crazy 9-wood with 5-wood loft that is shaved open. Are they that much easier to hit?

I've always struggled hitting 2-3 irons, but haven't considered switching to one of these "utility" clubs until recently. Any good values out there?

Ive never hit anything over a 5 and i RARELY use that. Some of my buddies have those "tight lie" woods and they swear by them. Ive never used one.

Keene's point in Florida.

Looks hard as hell. It's designed like a links course. I'm going to lose a ton of balls.
yes you will. i went thru 6 balls on the course i played. usually i can play an entire round with a single ball.

This is me.

Although all this is making me re-think my decision to stop spending money on clubs.

Oh, I take the never part back, I once used a buddy's 7 wood on the fringe after my putter found the lake.

What brands can you all recommend?

I don't have much of a gap between my 3 iron and 5 wood, but my 5 wood is way easier to hit, and I assume the same can be said for a 7 wood.

It sucks living in Michigan and talking about golf right now.

The funny thing is that when I lineup left, I tend to hit the ball straighter. I think it's something with my stance that I haven't figured out.

It's still a work in progress, but I'll figure it out eventually.
