Default New Putter
Well, since I pretty much bought a new everything last season

Nike Driver and 3 Wood
Cleveland Irons
Bag, shoes, balls, etc...

My only purchase to make this year would be a new putter.

I have my eye on the Odyssey 2 ball putter.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

those two ball putters are too bulky imo. Get a blade scotty cameron. infact, just get a scotty cameron putter and you'll be fine. btw- good choice on teh cleveland irons. got the ta-7's myself and they are the shiznit.

cheater! LOL

I was also checking out the new Nike Blue Chip putters, I think I can snag one for 60 bucks on EBay.

Which reminds me, not to hype a web site or anything, but RockBottomGolf on EBay has some great deals on good equipment for hacks.

belly putters are a bit unfair in my mind, but i don't really mind if someone uses them. their choice. shit, golf is hard enough, anytime you can find a advantage and it works for you, you'd be a sucker not to do it. i just can't get comfortable with it. the belly putter that is.

The 2 ball putters are damn near cheating.

I putt with anything that has a heavy head. If the head is heavy enough for me, I can't tell the difference between a $20.00 putter and $300.00 putter.

Agreed. Once you get comfortable with the putter you've got, no matter how much it cost you, stick with it. I've had the same old blade putter for over 10 years now. I've tried the new ones, belly's, etc... but keep going back. Now, if putting isn't the strongest part of your game, then by all means try different ones until you find one you like.

I don't like the new two ball putters, a little too bulky for my taste. I play an odyssey dual rossie II I bought a few years ago. I love it.

yeah, I am basically buying a new one because the one I used last year was sort of a loner form a buddy. Putting is not my strongpoint, as I am a bit of a meathead I guess..lol.

I liked the softer feel of the 2 ball putter when I tried it...I also liked the Callaway Tuttle.

agreed, but I never said that I have one. i just suggested the best because well, why not? i have a white hot #4 at 36 inches. had it for about 2 years and just last year I learned how to actually make something with it.

I've got a closet full of putters. I'd buy a new one and always end up going back to my Ping Anser 5. That is until I got this 2 ball.

I wouldn't reccomend the blade Scottie unless you are really confortable w/ your putting. Go for a Newport Cameron or something else...they're smooth & easy to control.

I have the Scottie Studio model 2, its the best looking putter i've ever seen...smooth as shit too.

As for the two ball, i hate it. But its either love it or hate it w/ the 2 ball. I've seen people that have huge success w/ it & others that dump it after 2 weeks. Drawing a line down the center of the 2 balls works good too.

If you guys want a good putter any of the White hot putters are very good I actully like them more then the Scotty Cameron and 2-ball putter. When i switched to it from the Cameron I was getting 4 less putts per round.

thanks for the post frosh...great info

I am getting a bigger-than-expected bonus this year for our profit sharing, so maybe I can afford a Cameron after all.

I am going to head up to the sporting goods store and test a few out next weekend

Go to a pro-shop so you can practice with the putter outside before you choose which one to buy, completely different feel.
