have you tried the left hand drill. Just putting your left hand on the club and 3/4 swing it and hit a ball that way gaining timming and control of the club. That will help with the opening of the shoulders early also.

and so you know about my golf game. Now i havent golfed in 2 years since the birth of my son. Last week i got the ok from the wife to continue my golfing. When i stoped i had a 2 handicap and played 18 holes daily. Next year i will qualify for the Michigan Amature. Where my goal is to just be competive thru the weekend and someday win it.

Ok. First check all of your fundamentals. Check your feet alignment, check your shoulder alignment, check your waist alignment. Make sure you're headed straight down the target line. Then check your grip. Put a tee between your thumb and forefinger on each hand. If they line up with the club face, you've got a good grip. If not, adjust it.

If all those are good, which I doubt they are, (I played competitive golf for 7 years, and I still fall into bad alignment and grip), then check your swing path alignment. Go straight back, don't bring the club outside. then check whether you're coming down out to in or whether you're straight. If you're coming in straight, then your clubface is open. Make sure your left wrist is flat at impact, and not cupped (wrist bent backwards a bit).

This is so much easier when i can show people. I'm really thinking about going to school to learn to teach golf. I wonder how long it takes to start making good money after you graduate from one of those schools.
And try not to think too much when you swing.
