Major blow up
Was playing a 4 ball yesterday afternoon shot a 76 not bad very very happy but........
I had a lesson early and my pro sorted a little mistake in my swing and it helped i had been slightly hitting fat but it was my left knee collapsing anyway thats not important. Just about to tee off on the 16th and one of the guys said come on Daz 3 more holes to go and it could be your first ever sub par round i was -1 at the time. Needless to say i got all excited and fudges the last 3 holes.http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/banghead.gif But if 2 months ago you had told me i was going to be playing well again id have sent you to the looney bin!!! |
Still a nice round dude. I would take a 76 in a heart beat.

It's not that I'm not well aware of where I'm at, but I don't want anyone else telling me about it haha. |
That's why I know if I am close to break 90 or 80 I feel better if I don't know my score. Easier to play and worry about the score at the end.

Rough finish but great round!! Sounds like there a lot of positives to take away from that

Nice round Boss, I know all about blow-ups.....lol
But 76 is a damn good round!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |
I knew that i was playing well but i dont look at my card or think about holes ive played i found that ruins my golf quicker than anything.

76 is a great score, congrats.
I did similar on my last round, I had a couple of pars and was looking at a birdie putt. It was super short but I missed it by a mile. |
76 is nothing to sneeze at. As Harry Vardon told Bobby Jones, "Whatever you do, don't stop hitting the ball."

Yes I find that too, especially when you have 21 points to your card in an Open Stableford in the front nine and end up spraying it all sorts or blocking putts the rest of your way in. Golf is a mental game.
|
Dude if 76 is your blow up score, then you're in a great place man, keep it up and soon you'll be getting the sub par score you want, what I would do is tee it forward for a couple of practice rounds so you have a greater chance at getting birdies and eagles and that way you can train yourself in staying cool when you are in those situations so when you play a round at your you will be ready mentally when you are under par! good luck man! but I do know what you mean, I can score a +2 on the front 9 but the last nine at my home course always screws me up!
|
I've never seen anyone go from shooting 100+ to under par capable in such a short amount of time. That right there is something to be proud of!
|
I remember the days when I would go out and shoot 76 and come home disappointed............wait, no I don't.

Great round! Just appreciate the good ball striking, and be grateful your handicap won't be falling too low! http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...es/biggrin.png
I had something very similar happen to me last May, and posted it up in the "What did you shoot today" thread. After I birdied the 15th hole, my playing partner got all excited and mentioned I was 2 under par. I haven't broken par in many, many years, so this was a big deal. I promptly dumped my next tee shot in the water and took a double. I rebounded, and got a miracle birdie on the 18th to still break par, but its really surprising how thinking about your score can add unwanted pressure. |
