Lol. Deal! I'll name whatever comes of it the PauloThain fade. You both will get the credit if it works because both of you have some really good advice. It'll be sweet though I have faith in it. If it doesnt work, Ill just accept I may have JD's swing and go sell signed balls outside of the Masters next year haha.

I actually set out trying to play a fade with my longer shots this year. Now I'm just trying to tame it! I accept no responsibility for negative results in your trials, but I demand all the credit if it works! http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...ilies/wink.png

haha, I like it, there's no lose! Either way, it's money.

I like this thread. It's nice to read about the progress and frustrations of others being much the same as yourself. I like the word 'cathartic'.

What is this "driving range" thing that everyone keeps talking about?http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo.../confused2.gif

i am anti range, the grass areas around here suck, and hitting off a mat alot of flaws get covered up!! ill go to the par 3 course for iron time

I had a really good range session yesterday until I got to my 5 iron, 4 iron, and driver. I have been working on a couple of different things as I have taken 2 lessons in the last 2 weeks, and if you are curious about all that I am working on you can see that in the "My frist real lesson" thread. I started out with a 6 iron in my hand, worked my way down to gap wedge, then back to 5 iron, 4 iron, and driver. I hit 10 balls with each club except the 4 iron which I only hit 3 balls because that was all I had left. I hit 51 of 83 balls very well, with my misses mainly being hit either fat, or low slices until I got to the 4 and 5 iron. 11 of my 32 total misses were in the 13 swings taken with the 4 and 5 iron, and they were all push fades. My Driver, which I was hitting dead straight, is now a slight fade with 3 misses that were slices, and 2 topped pulls. Add in the 5 misses with my driver, and half of my misses were with these 3 clubs, which is why it was such a good session. I had been pull hooking all of my irons, and today, 6-gap was dead straight, and at he target.

My range sessions have been long and plentiful. I played 33 yesterday and practiced an hour ahead of time and 2 hours after.

I am going through tape like crazy and and fingers hurt. Can't wait for these calluses to kick in.

My 3 hour range sessions have been something like this:

Short game (chipping, wedges, bunkers) 1 1/2 hours.

Irons & Woods 1 hour

Putting 30 minutes

Trying to work on my tempo and grip pressure at the moment. I much prefer to hit the range right now than actually playing. I feel like I am honing my game and feeling very comfortable over the ball.

I try to practice like this 3-4 times a week and when I can't practice I have a club in my hands in the yard on breaks from my desk.

I am full of fail when I go to the range. Every iron shot goes the same distance, but on the course I don't have that problem. I think I get too caught up on mechanics at the range but on the course I am going for a target. Now I know I can pick at target at the range, but logically I know that hitting that target isn't giving me a score at that moment so it doesn't help me too much.

I am having insane driver troubles lately, I am hitting such a high slice almost every time it is insane, worst part is there is a road running along the right side of the range so I am so close to constantly hitting cars. I can't use it on the range anymore.

I am just starting to find my swing again and had a bit of a breakthrough the other day. I was having trouble making good contact and then I realized I wasn't really stacked over the ball through the whole swing. I started hitting great once I focused on that and even my long irons were looking good. After that I hit another realization and even FELT through my swing I wasn't maintaining my spine angle. I am working on that right now and am hitting them great. First round at my home club won't be for a while because of complications but I am playing tomorrow at a small course around here. First lesson is scheduled for May 10th.

Im having the same problem, someone suggested making sure I just come straight back with the driver so that I have a chance to come through squarely, Im going to give it a shot, if not I'll go get a quick lesson like I ddi last year to figure out the issue and resolution
