My Son's First 9

We're vacationing in Michigan this week, and I decided it would be a great time to get my son (7) out on the course for the first time. The course was dry and rock hard, my rental clubs were a joke (not enough room in the car for mine), but I can honestly say that I've never had more fun golfing in my entire life. I offered to let him hit from my lies, but he insisted in playing the course in its entirety, and he ended his first 9 holes with a 97. I couldn't be more proud of the little guy.

Best part is that he said he can't wait to go again! http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...es/biggrin.png

This is great, love the picture as well. Sounds like you two had some great bonding time and the start of something he can build on for the rest of his life. Congrats man!

That is so awesome! I can't wait till my son is old enough to go out and play, but for now it's plastic golf clubs for the house.

There's nothing better than playing go,f with your son. I have a hard time leaving to play around when he ask to go with me. I'm pretty sure my boy would live at the course if I let him

Awesome! Glad to see you getting him hooked so young. Wish my dad would have done that with me when I was younger.

Awesome. My son is going to be 7 in September. Dont' think he's ready for the course, but he's getting there.

Thanks everyone. It really was just an amazing experience.

I'm sure that will happen sooner than later, and that smile will be worth it.

I didn't think so either, so I just called ahead and asked them when their slowest time was, and was fortunate to have no one behind or in front of us for the entire time.

Very cool that your son insisted on playing his own shots. I hope the next time out is as fun as the first!
