Do you caddy?

My 4-ball partner is a scratch golfer so I caddy for him in his scratch events like today's USGA Mid Am qualifier.

Anyone else out there caddy for a friend in scratch events? I find it to be a great learning experience and it's also very motivating to watch these guys play as it makes me want to improve my own game even more.

I don't but I would LOVE to do it sometime. None of my close friends are close to scratch or anything like that but I hope I get the opportunity to caddy someday. It's always something that's interested me .. so if any of you NC guys decide you need a caddy for something .. hit me up haha.

Seriously though man, that's cool that you do that for him! Awesome for the both of you!

I caddied for a local pro I worked for as a kid. It was a lot of fun to follow a tournament on the bag. It was interesting to watch his process trying to figure out how to play out certain shots when he'd hit into trouble. I got to see an unbelievable private course as well. If my ankle and my knee weren't in such shoddy shape, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

One of the great perks is playing the practice rounds with him on some of these awesome courses that the NCGA and USGA use for these events.

I get way too tired to lug one of those obnoxious bags around an 18 hole course for multiple days.

Only the pros use those big bags. Also - we use a Bag Boy Quad pullcart. Much better then carrying that nonsense around. This isn't the PGA tour. http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...ies/act-up.png

My friend isn't scratch, but I caddy for him in his tourneys all the time. I love it. It's so much fun being a caddy for a friend.
