I played with an older gentleman a couple of weeks ago that rode up on his mountain bike, stand bag over his shoulder. He probably lives within a mile of the course, so not too far for him to go.

You'll be doing lots of wheelies? Any chance of making a deal with a local club with practice facility to keep your bag on site until October?
I'd thought of that actually. The pro at one of the local courses is a friend of mine and they have a bag drop so I'm sure he'd let me. But it would get tricky when I actually play because me and my partners almost never play at that course so we'd have to go pick up my clubs.

I kind of had an idea that I only tested once on my bicycle... I'm not a domestically talented gal so I couldn't make a prototype.

One of you guys might be able to though.

Anyway, for my test I used one of those roll up wrench holders... You know, the fabric things that hold a set of open-end wrenches?

You take all the wrenches out then pick out 3-4 clubs you want to take.

Roll the clubs up in the wrench holder and tie snugly.

Grab a couple strips of 1 in Velcro and snug one strip around each end about 2 inches from end of wrench holder. If you can find Velcro straps with little d-rings sewn in, they're the best.

Take a carry strap off a laptop or courier bag and clip the ends to the Velcro.

Put strap over your head cross-body so clubs go from upper right to lower left (opposite if you prefer). Tighten so strap pulls clubs in for less wiggle.

Get on bike... Go.

Don't fall off because it'll hurt you and your clubs

I call it the Spazzdog Sachel
Excellent idea! I might have to work on that.

Some of those wrench holder thingies have elastics in them that hold the wrenches in place - if your grips aren't too fat you can shove your club through that as a little stabilizer.

If not, just wrap the clubs in a bunch like a bouquet

Why don't you just put a few clubs in a back pack heads first and let the shafts stick up in the air above your head. Only take 3 or 4 clubs to the range.

Looks like you're getting some good ideas. I remember a close friend of mine roller blading to the course everyday back in the mid nineties. He always got some funny looks cruising to the course.

Combined with SpazzDog's velcro strip idea, I think we have a winner here!

I've got a 56, 9, 7, and 5 here and they dont stick up very far at all. Just have to connect the zippers together so it doesn't come unzipped.

NOW you tell me! Sadly, that information would have helped me about 2 minutes ago.
