My Clubs Were Stolen

Parked out in front of my house and I must have forgot to lock my car. Went to open the trunk and the entire bag was gone.

Homeowners (less $500) will give me some coverage, but this really sucks. With the rangefinder and bag, it's probably $2400.

I guess I'll be changing my sig soon, but will probably wait until I get new clubs.

sigh...

Alkassyinhisk 07-14-2012 02:16 PM

Sorry...that SUCKS!!!

TOOGUEITEME 07-14-2012 02:17 PM

Sorry to hear that man. We currently reside in the hood while our new house is being built so I make sure I always bring my clubs inside so they can keep my Sig company. Good luck getting them replaced. =(

kictainiSot 07-14-2012 02:19 PM

Ah dude that sucks big time. Hopefully you can get some new club soon

viagraman 07-14-2012 02:24 PM

I am sorry to hear this, hope insurance comes through without issue. Try to have fun building the new bag.

That is a bummer for sure but who knows, you might find some new toys that work very well for ya! Good luck in your search.

I hate to hear that you got ripped off man.
Perhaps alert some of the local pawn shops as to what was in your bag this may help nab the scumbag that lifted your property.
Good Luck on the rebuild of your bag.

Msrwbdas 07-14-2012 03:24 PM

Sorry to hear about your sticks!

hubua990 07-14-2012 04:10 PM

I got mine stolen from my driveway about 15 years ago. I was really pissed that somebody had the balls to rob me, moreso than the clubs being gone. Homeowners paid nicely and I upgraded:)

VUzgOhgv 07-14-2012 04:12 PM

Ooofah. Sorry. Wishing appropriate karma on the thief(s).

Hopefully you'll be enjoying your new bag soon.

Thanks for all the kind words.

On the bright side, I'm certain I'm going to get the Callaway Razr X irons again, so I'm going to get fitted for them to make certain I get the right specs. I'm 6'5" and the first set of irons I bought way back in 1987 were some Ping Eye 2 knockoffs, fitted to me by my instructor (+1", 2 degrees upright). When I bought my first set of name brand irons (Tommy Armour 845 Silver Scot), I didn't get fit, just used the same specs. In the late 90s, I bought a set of Callaway X-14s and was fitted for them (again this is without technology, just a knowledgeable guy eyeballing me for about 30 minutes). He also recommended +1", 2 degrees upright.

When I bought the Razr Xs this spring, it didn't even occur to me to get fitted. I had been out of the market for new clubs for so long (I loved those X-14s), and I was completely ignorant of the advances made in fitting technology. I just went to the Callaway site and ordered a set of irons with the same specs. However, after I joined THP, I soon learned about the advantages of fitting and kind of regretted being so hasty in my Razr purchase.

It will be funny if I end up with the same +1", 2 degree upright specs, but there's always the choice of shaft as well. I had TT Dynamic Gold S300 in my knockoffs and 845s and constant weight shafts in the X-14s. I went for the same TT shafts in the Razr Xs, so it will be interesting what it recommended.

Although the Cameron putter and Bushnell rangefinder will be easy for the thieves to move, hopefully they won't be able to get much for the irons due to the oddball sizing. :)

Sorry to hear it man, hope the insurance comes through well for you.

Just once I'd love to hear how the police caught one of these robbers. Surely they catch a few here and there, has anyone ever gotten their clubs back? Do most police officers have pretty solid sets out there? hehe

texprofi 07-14-2012 04:37 PM

Sorry to hear about the sticks and stuff. Good thing is that it can all be replaced and perhaps with an even better fit for your game. Hope the insurance company does you right.

TapAhoy!

GaryBulguihb 07-14-2012 04:40 PM

That sucks but hopefully your insurance company will make you whole. Start shopping around & don't go cheap on them, you've been paying them for years so get some of it back.
X2 on contacting local pawn shops, those guys don't want to hassle of buying stolen goods & dealing with the cops.

nursopoutaras 07-14-2012 05:16 PM

I sure hate to hear that your sticks were swiped. Hope that your insurance company helps out a lot.

Romobencience 07-14-2012 06:23 PM

sorry to hear this, too many stories out there of this happening forces me to never leave them in my car good luck on the rebuild

Rndouglas 07-14-2012 06:28 PM

Sorry to hear that, good luck on building the new bag.

megatrendsZ 07-14-2012 06:30 PM

I hate thieves with an unyielding passion, right there with the absolute scum of the earth in my opinion.

I'm sorry to hear about this, just terrible.
