Default Snacks During A Round
Hello
Just wondering what some of you snack on during a round.
When ever I play Now I seem to get weak during the back nine, Hotdogs and beer are not cutting it What's a good snack during a round for a boost of energy ? I started carrying trail mix with nuts and dried fruit and only drinking water..
also can someone recommend a water bottle that keeps water cold for a whole round?
Thanks for any help...

Usually granola bars or something of the sort. Occasionally some beef jerky. Mmmm

But NEVER Fritos. I HATE Fritos.

I always bring some granola bars, some turkey jerkey, a bunch of almonds, and tons of water. For energy, you'll want something with plenty of carbs. I used to drink Mountain Dew or energy drinks out on the course, but I've found I can't calm down over the ball--especially when putting--if I've got too much caffeine in my system.

Water and 2 gatorades per nine, plus 2 of the 3 following: dried fruit slices, trail mix, nature valley honey n oats bar, per 9.

With that I can golf all day, routinely walk 36 without a problem.

Im glad I dont play golf with you guys, sheesh.

I like chips, and hot dogs at the turn. And cookies, and other things that proshops sell.

The 10th Tee bars are delicious, but I only really eat them because they are delicious, not because they do anything for me.

Well we always stop for a snack at the grill between 9 holes and it always ends up taking 30 minutes for a burrito, I guess I should take my own snacks from now on haha it happened every time!

I'm with you pal. I enjoy a pack of crackers, a hotdog, gatorade, and water.

I sure do enjoy a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel from the can (school snack place) between nines. A good, greasy, snack.

We'll bring PB&J sometimes, but usually a brat from the clubhouse.

And Jolly Ranchers during the round.

Water, bananas, Nature's Valley Granola bars, beef jerky. I'll grab a dog at the turn sometimes.

Protein bars, granola bars, or a sandwich. Never a full meal or anything too heavy.

Depends on how many holes I'm playing for the day. 18 will usually be a cliff bar or 2, gatorade to start and then a refill/top off at every water cooler, maybe some crackers. If I'm going 36, I will usually have 3 cliff bars, couple packs of crackers with me, couple gatordes, couple PB&J's. I was a little slack the last couple times I played on keeping my self topped off with food and it really affected my late round performance. Got to keep your self hydrated AND full of good energy food, especially when walking the course, that take more energy than anything else i can think of on the course.

I have type 2 diabetes so snacking during a round is critical. The TX heat in summer just sweats the carbs out of me which will cause my glucose to drop like a stone. So I bring: a banana or two which works magic at keeping my glucose up, 4-5 Quaker Chewy bars which have about 20 cards each, two PBJ's (sugar free J) 5-6 bottles of water. Thank god my bag has big pockets!
