Who here gets fitted?
How many fellow golfers here gets fitted rather than play with stock clubs? I for one use stock lie angles but always add 1/2" to the length. I make solid contact majority of the time but always wonder if I would play my absolute best golf if I had the lie angle customized for my set up.

I was fit for my clubs for the first time ever this year, for The Morgan Cup. A full 14 club fitting.
I got a set of Adams irons and hybrids fit to me, which is good too, but not as good as you being fit to the clubs. |
To answer your question, no, you're probably not.
I get fitted 100% of the time. I think it might be worth your time to get a solid fitting my man. |
I certainly get fitted. I am a huge advocate of it. Not only for length and lie but for the shaft. A great place to start is with Mizuno's shaft optimizer. In my experiences, it's really good for giving one a good place to start.
Having your lie angles fit to you is extremely important. IMO, it can really ensure that you hit the center of the clubface and reduce lateral movement of your golf ball. |
I was fitted for driver, 3 wood and irons.
Driver was cut down to 44.5", irons were adjusted 2 down. It has made a difference. I have been making better contact since. I definitely recommend it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |
Agree with the above. You can always buy off the rack, but once you git fitted you will have wish you had done it sooner.

I get fitted all the time too! Really makes a difference and they can always check you lie and angle of the clubs you buy since they are not always correct when you receive them. Also not just physical but mentally it has helped me too. Knowing that I have the proper clubs for my swing gives me confidence to really go after the ball.

I think you will have a hard time finding folks on THP that do not get fit.

I'd like to know where everyone gets fitted? Ive had my clubs extended and re gripped but never had anything else checked out. Where do you guys like to go?

Watch it sweetness lmao, great movie but probably not a good fitting.
I went to both GS and PGASS and then to an independent local shop for the putter. Will be going back next week to check the irons, but all three have come to the same recommendation. I don't think you need to go to that extreme, but recommendations from people here in your area would be a good starting point. |
Fitted to Mizuno MP-62s @ +1/2" & 2* Upright
and Titleist 910D 8.5* w/ Diamana 'ahina 82 |

I bought my irons from an ebay dealer (couldn't get them in the stores anymore) and then went for a fitting. No changes.
I've never been fitted for my woods or hybrids, all of which I hit very well. If I were going for new clubs from a store, I would take advantage of the free fitting service. I've purchased all but my 2 hybrids and putter from ebay. |

I've never had a professional fitting but I have a putter fitting with Champion Golf acheduled for July 13th. Looking forward to it.

The PGASS would be a good starting point and the guys here locally were really open and honest with telling me up front what to expect. You'll more than likely get a thousand foot level fitting, but will give you some ideas to start. If you went to a couple different places and received the same answer, your on the right track. I went to GS first and spent 2 hours there the first time going over the shaft, club head selection, loft, and lie check. Went back a second time the same week to double check the different variables. I ordered the clubs through them at that point. While they were in route, I went to the PGASS and told them that I had ordered a set already and wanted a second opinion. I didn't want someone to waste their time knowing I wasn't buying. When I told them this they were surprised at me being open about it and were more than happy to check things out. They even did the Mizuno swing DNA for me and gave me the numbers at no charge. I've since been back to buy the 2ball with fitting and grip change. So being up front can have it's advantages. I went to the third local guy to have the putter analyzed and loft changed after some video analysis. Going back to him with the irons next week to have them double checked. Both of which are not free. Sorry for the long response and guess this would suffice: Good starting point! |

I have had fittings done by GolfGalaxy, PGA Superstore, and GolfTec. While the GG, and PGA SS fittings were not bad, GolfTec hes them best hands down. All myfuture fittings will be done there.

I get fit for everything. I think putter fitting is often overlooked and should be done by more people.
