Default 2 weeks to Bandon
This trip has been in the works for a while and I ended up using it as a marker for two goals.

I had already been working on eating better and losing weight, but ultimately decided to get to 205 lbs by the trip. A poorly timed hip injury and subsequent physical therapy means I am going to end up about 4 lbs short of reaching that goal, but I have lost (and kept off) 25 lbs since last August. I’m very happy with the results even if I came up a bit short. Definitely a net win.

Goal number two was to take the game more seriously and improve. I had been mostly away from the game for nearly a decade and was really bad. About 95% of all my shots were uncontrollable horrific left-of-Hillary hooks. I took lessons this winter, upgraded equipment, have been doing drills religiously, going to the range and sneaking in as many rounds as possible. I am not nearly as far along as I would like – probably have reached normal duffer status – but the hook is absolutely history. Even though I am a bit frustrated at my lack of consistency and pretty disappointed that my driver is a complete nightmare, this one is a net win also.

Anyway, sorry for rambling but as the trip is so close it was time to reflect on accomplishments.

Good for you T4K! (sorry I don't know you're actual name so that's what I'm going with). 25lbs is a great feat, as is killing the hook. let me(/us) know how you like Bandon, take some pics! never played there but would love to some day. after you get back, let's play a round!

I never heard of Bandon, but just googled it. Darn, that is one beautiful course. Is it super expensive?

There's a group going from my course (about 15 - 20 guys) next week. I wish I was one of them. I've been wanting to go out there for while now, but just haven't done it yet.

Thanks guys. I am really pumped - just wish I could hit my damn driver, I've got two weeks to figure it out otherwise I'm thinking of leaving it home and going with the 3W.

@bhilton - it is phenomenal. You have to get yourself there next time there's a guys trip.

Relative to other high end resorts it is very reasonable. Relative to your normal semi-private nicer course type place it is a bit spendy. It is a once a year type trip for me...and such a special experience that I think it is worth every penny.
