This was one of those days. I caught every bad break in the book - hit a ball straight down the middle of the fairway and it kicks and I see it go into a clump of grass (the only clump of deep grass in the region, by the way) and it is gone; I bomb a driver and it goes through the fairway into a bunker; hit a beautiful fairway bunker shot and it catches the last 1/4 inch of the only visible branch and puts me in a green side bunker that is somehow hard as concrete; on another hole I made a smart play to layup, hit a nice shot and it hits a cartpath and bound OB; etc, etc, etc. I affirmatively put some horrific swings on the ball, including the dreaded S word, which I really never do. I couldn't make a putt to save my life. I lost like 8 balls on the front 9. I was literally thinking about the posts from others about wanting to quit. Frustrating. Hell, I even decided I would go straight to the clubhouse after the round and try to get a session with my training pro (who apparently will be buying a million dollar home based on my lesson plan only) but of course it was his day off so I couldnt' even win there. But then I came to the 18th hole, a 472 yard par 5 dog leg left. Driver 268, 4h to 10' and I rolled the putt in the hole for an eagle...for 101.

don't worry too much, RedTail isn't rating as highly as it should be. and WOW! EAGLE on 18?! nice dude! that's a hard one to pull off with that sloped of a green and that narrow of a fairway. very nice. as for the other 98 strokes, just wipe em off and say "well, sucks, but can't do anything about it now. let's pipe the next one, okay?"

Thanks. I've got something technically wrong with my swing, somewhere I've reverted to a prior mistake. Hopefully Matt can get me ironed out tomorrow.

One day no breaks - the next every break you could possible get. I had two rounds like that this last week.

Sunday, couldn't buy a bad break. Had a shot when I shouldn't have. Lies were good, bounces were good, everything.

Wednesday - couldn't buy a good break. Poor lies, trees in the way, ball sitting down, bad bounces all of it.
