Getting a GHIN number?
 

How can I get a GHIN number. Free? We travel for my wifes job so I do not really want to be a "member" any one place or area.

I'm not sure you can get one for free. And since I don't have one anyway, I don't even know what they cost.

To get an official GHIN, I believe you have to pay for a membership somewhere. It doesn't have to be a physical club though.

For example, THP will be starting an official hc service fairly soon I believe. You would pay some type of fee and have an official GHIN that you can use in most of the U.S.

Different clubs charge different amounts.

My club charges $50 per year, while another in my area charges $120. It all varies.

Seems to be right about $40 at the clubs around here to get registered for a GHIN

Most local muni's offer this service, although they often tie it to joining the men's or women's club. You don't have to participate in those club activities. Your GHIN "travels" with you wherever you play, so joining in this manner does not restrict you.

My club charges $25 for the service of which $5 of that stays with the club and the rest goes to GHIN.

Yeah it really is, but when THP announced theirs coming, I pulled my money out to support the THP one that hasn't happened yet, lol. Oh well, sooner or later.

I've been waiting on that too, but I'm gonna have to get one here soon as it's required for a couple of tournaments I want to play in
