Default switching to a new set of clubs?
I just got a new set of RBZ Max irons using airline miles.
I have been playing Ping G15 for the last year or so and like them fine but it was a uuse them or loose them thing with the miles.
I have no doubt the RBZ are good clubs but they look funny at address and feel strange in my hands.
When you swap to a new set, how long does it take to get used to them?

I dont like changing my irons, thats why Im still playing my x22s from 2008. I actually bought a set of i10s a couple years ago but brought them back. I just wasnt comfortable switching, I may of been ok with the new set but didnt have the patience. Ironically I switch drivers all the time.

If you want to stick with your g15s you could try to sell the RBZs, but I switched irons without too much problem last year. If they dont feel comfortable after a little while, then I wouldn't recommend trying to force it.

1st of all...
you got a set of RBZ Max using airline miles??? that's awesome.

2nd....
it could take some time to get used to new irons. there's always gonna be clubs that fit you and clubs that don't, with countless amount of specs that fit your swing. but there's a lot that goes into what it pleasing to the eye. that's what will attract you and keep you attracted to a certain club or set of clubs.
they're going to look different right off the bat, especially since the RBZ Max is more similar to a hybrid set.

my advice...put in a lot of hours on the range with them first, do a hard contrast and compare with your current irons and make the decision. there are a lot of things to factor in, but with irons...it's all about distance and accuracy. i would stick with the set that has the best combination of both those.

good luck.

I was fit for my new irons and have had 2 rounds with them. 1st round got better after a few holes, 2nd round was much better. I imagine its going to take me a few more rounds to feel really comfortable with them.

I think it'll take a little bit of time. I had been playing Ping i3's for the past 12+ years and just changed to R11 irons and SCOR wedges. It's been roughly a month and I'm still getting use to the new clubs and trying to determine my distances. The new clubs are great and once I get the distances dialed in, look out!!!

I rarely switch, but if and when, it is always over the winter. I want to get to know them well before they go on the course. I also never sell the set the new ones replace. I want to be 1000% before I sell anything. Just takes a little time if you are changing from say a blade to something with a ton of offset or vise versa. Just takes time and lots of range work.

I think it depends on how different your new clubs are compared to your old clubs. For example, if you're moving from one type of club to another (game improvement to players irons, etc). Also, different iron sets can have different lofts. If you say it looks funny at address and feels strange in your hands, then I would say hit as many balls as you can. I've always felt that if something doesn't look right at address, makes it much harder to hit effectively and takes longer to get used to.

took me a relatively short time to get used to my blades after playing my '09 burners. i demo'd a new RBZ 6 iron yesterday during my round and have to say, i was NOT impressed with it. IMO, it looks clunky, hits REALLY clunky and there is relatively no feel what so ever...but i'm assuming that's b/c i currently play blades.

keep playing with em, since you're already hitting cavity backs it shouldn't take too long...if you don't like em, hey, it was worth the experiment right?

Since you switched between clubs in the same category (GI) it shouldn't take very long. Took me a range session and a round to get used to the look. Yardages on the other hand are a little different. That took me about 5 range sessions and a few more rounds to dial in.

It took six months to get used to my new clubs.
Some of it might have been mental though and not the equipment.
