Thinking about playing is what sustains me through a work week, or as is currently the case, a cold and dreary season. I think it's perfectly healthy. Some people rely on booze or drugs to get by. Our activity of choice involves exercise, mental focus, and social interactions- nothing wrong with that. If only it was free.

I am the same way about my clubs. I even clean my shoes after playing, like clean them in the sink with a wire brush! My wife gets a little annoyed at that. Golf can certainly be addictive. I guess this is better than being a drunk though... (At least thats what I tell my wife)
I tell my wife the same exact thing!! Whenever she says my golf habit is ridiculous, I tell her to be thankful that I'm not addicted to h**kers and c@ke!

I am very bad about that. I have a 14-way bag and I could close my eyes and still grab the right club.
Yep. Me too. I get annoyed if I accidentally double them up too. Upside is I very very rarely leave any wedges on greens or anything like that. Once every year maybe. I have friends that seem to leave clubs every other round!

I love to hit balls, that is why I play, but I am not OCD about the clubs or anything else in my life. There is a certain natural beauty to the imperfection and entropy that dirt embodies when it is on the face of a golf club. Sometimes I intentionally mess something up just so it isn't perfect. It is unnatural for anything to be perfect and unblemished.

Pretty much any active member here, who is checking in several times per day, posting when they have something to say and playing golf almost every time they have a chance would fall into the OCD category. Yep, I am surrounded by a bunch of golf nuts.

Uh, I have like 35,000 posts on a golf forum. yeah, I'm obsessed. You should see how meticulous I am about keeping my clubs clean. Some people find it annoying.

I actually don't think I am. I think about cheeseburgers a lot, though. And pizza.

OK I am the same way, we are both from Florida, and both live in Katy, TX. Seriously we need to get out and play a round. And I do hit balls almost every day, little foam ones in my garage. My hybrids are the longest club I can hit, but hay at least it is a fix. Worst part about all of this is I have two very young kids and am only able to get out once ever three weeks or so, man it stinks.

PS: Wait until you decide that you can build your own clubs also. Now I can thinks about changing my grips, shafts and other crap constantly.

I like to think I am but with college it's hard to play every week sometimes there's just too much on my mind that I can't just go out and play and enjoy it. Golf is something I want to play in my future professionally and when I go out I want it to be of quality and not just go out and beat the ball around.

Gonna weigh in as another yes. In addition to checking this site more than I probably should and thinking about it all the time, I'm a bit of a neat freak with the clubs. Clean them off after every shot, to be wiped down later if they require it. I'm also really particular about what order they go in the bag. That way I know where everything is. Naturally, I like 14-way divider bags...
