Once I played with a guy who arrived by helicopter. He just landed his chopper next to the first tee and got out. I was just standing there like wtc? Turns out he was the president/owner of a chain of courses around here (Crystal Springs).

Play with a guy last year who was in his late 60's who played for the Bills and Notre Dame. I am bad with names so sorry I don't remember his name, he was a lineman though. I do know he kicked my butt, don't remember the score but I know it was in the low 70's.

I don't have a golf story for it, but I was at a wedding in Wisconsin and there was a large gentleman at my table. We struck up conversation and it turns out he owns a series of gyms in the Madison area. I asked how he got into fitness and he talked about it being after his time in the "league". It was Ron Dayne! I spent the rest of the night just chatting about his charity work and talking to his date (A PhD Biochemistry)- never brought up football or anything.

Everyone else at the wedding was taking pictures when he wasn't looking or trying to get his autograph. I honestly felt really bad for him. I hope that at least the dinner part was somewhat normal and he was able to just enjoy himself before the circus broke loose.

Great stories, thanks for sharing!

It did not happen to me, but my friends were in Orlando last month and Michael Jordan played in the group behind them. Jordan had lunch with them in the clubhouse afterward. They said he ws very friendly and seemed to be a really nice guy.

For my dad's 60th birthday I took him to spyglass. It was just the 2 of us so I knew we'd be paired up. We were lucky enough to play with Jim Abbot (former MLB pitcher). What a great experience. He was super friendly and was genuinely interested in who we were. It was also great having someone like that tell you you hit a nice shot. For those of you that don't know he only has one hand. He still drove the ball about 270 and shot in the mid 80's on a very tough course. Professional athletes are just at another level.

This past summer I was at my home course playing a round of golf by myself. I was just walking and playing multiple balls since the course was slow. I had a group of three older guys come up behind me and ask if I wanted to join in with them. I hopped in the cart with one of them and when we pulled up to the next tee box, Terry Bradshaw got out of the other cart. I played the rest of the round with them (about 13 holes) and it had to be one of the most fun rounds of golf I've played. He has a tournament here every year to raise money for LA Tech Athletics since this is where he went to school, but I never thought I get to actually play golf with him.

I played with the Great Spud Web a few times while I was in High School. Our practice Course was Thorntree Country Club, and he lived on the course, and was always playing. He wasnt very good, but it was really cool just to know we were playing with him.

Did he have to use your kids clubs?
