It has altered my handicap by a small bit, but nothing substantial. I guess I just ask this because I am playing good golf right now and the cap is going down rather quickly. On the flip side though it isn't like we aren't entering our bad 9's as well. I could have a 38 waiting there to be combined but then the next day come back with a 43 or 44 just to have it combined with a well shot 9 holes. So when you think of it that way it is kind of fair.

This is the direction I was going to go. I know the courses I play I usually shoot better on one nine than the other nine. Can't you just play the front nine one day, and the back nine the next time? The course I play now I usually shoot mid to high 40s on the front and low to mid 40s on the back, and it's usually the same even if I play the back nine first. I think I have only had one round where I shot better on the front than I did on the back, and I shot terrible on the back. But there was a time I played 9 on the front one day, wnet to play 9 on the back, but it was packed, so I played 9 on the front again. And then the next 2 times out I played the back twice and matched those up with the front 9 scores |

I definitely enter my 9 holes scores, but they are consistently HIGHER than my 18 hole averages. Oddly enough, if I only play 9, I rarely get a range/warmup session in so it takes a while to "warm up" on the course. When I play 18 I typically get a short warmup in and then am typically tired coming in but I still manage to shoot all in all a stroke or 3 better than my 9 hole combined scores. Well at least this year, since I've kept a GHIN and both 9 and 18 hole rounds.
