That's great JRod! Where in the Midwest is your AmTour? Good luck to you as well!
They call it the Quad City Amateur Tour but its actually held in about a 75 miles radius. The top 3 get to play in the monday qualifier for the John Deere Classic.

That sounds like ours radius wise. What a great prize for the top three finishers! Best of luck and let's hope for an early spring.

Wow, good for you buddy. That sounds like it would be a ton O' fun. How many total events are there? Does it look like a once per month kind of thing or every other week?

Hopefully we will be able to get out for a round before you can totally slay me.

So far there are two in April, four in May, one in June, July, August and September, and four in October. But they me adding more. I wouldn't worry about me slaying you LOL. I look forward to playing some golf with you once this bloody snow melts!

I found the schedule while you were posting. Some really nice courses in there. One day events are really neat.

I was reading some of the copy that talks about the genesis of the series and the fact that for years....decades really, the NE PGA has focused all of its efforts on the scratch golfer leaving 98% of all golfers off of its radar and how this series is a direct reflection of their effort to appeal to a larger audience of golfers. What a great idea!

It seems like the New England PGA wants to make a concerted effort to work with the golf enthusiast no matter their ability. By all accounts they make every effort to make it a great experience for the golfer. The course venues is one proof of that. I browsed through some of the courses on the schedule. It's worth joining just to play some of those courses.

Well I picked up a GolfLogix GPS-8 for little money. It only shows numbers, no maps of the holes, but it's easy to use and the numbers are large so I won't have to worry about glasses. I'll also be able to measure the length of my shots.

I've been studying the mapping of each hole for the first tournament (TPC Boston). Yeah, I guess I'm a bit obsessed, but forgive me, I haven't played golf since last November! I'm hoping to get out Thursday...IF the weather cooperates (their calling for rain right now). I've been hitting balls on the range, but as you all know that's not the same thing as playing. The slope from the tees we'll be playing from is 142, so I'd like to get in some real golf first. I've never played a course that difficult.
