Default Fall 2010 Northeast Golf Gathering
Following JB's advice, and since "Help Me I'm stuck in an Elevator" ddec0418 and I were on the same page (great minds?!), I'd like to propose that those of us in the greater NE region (ME, VT, NH, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE) and anyone else who wants to travel to the greater NE region get together sometime in the next few weeks for a little fall golf!

Fall is a fantastic time here with the leaves turning colors (should be fantastic colors after wet spring/early summer and hot late summer) and really good deals on tee times.

So, who would be interested in 18 on a Saturday between Oct. 9 and Nov. 13?

Depending on the location I would be interested, Mary. I live just outside of Boston. :-)

I might be able to attend if it's on a weekend- I'm a little burned out from work and could use an excuse to just not show up for 2-3 days, plus it would be cheaper than the Florida outing (less than 12 hours of driving and hopefully not at a resort course and I can stay at a hotel off-site).

I would be interested. I know the 9th is Jenn's birthday, so that date is probably out for me.

Just depends exactly how far it is from me, since you decided to leave out the DE area and what weekend.

No slight to DE meant OEM! Excellent state there. And weekend hasn't been decided yet. Just putting out feelers. Is there a weekend that works best for you?

I'll be up there the weekend of the 21st but gotta leave early b/c of prior commitments and the drive back down. Let me know if this works or if anyone wants to just smack it around.

I would be interested too, depending on how far away it is as well. I am also wondering why Western PA gets love but us Eastern PA'ers gets no love.

I feel ya OEM!!

A quick calculation using google maps, US Department of Highways trucking maps (for easy highway access) and the STI:ERsys shows the general Scranton, PA to be pretty centrally located to the region. Further Google research (i.e. search Golf Courses Scranton, PA) shows quite a few in the general area. Also, I know from previous business dealings (no, not Dunder Mifflin) hotels for those who want/need them are plentiful and reasonable.

Would the general Scranton Area be acceptable to folks?

Hey you had your chance during the outing here in FL. Unfortunately, you chose the sock.

That would probably work for me. Looks to be about 3 hours or so a drive.
