Default The Crazy drive I hit today
Alright I hit the craziest drive today, it was with a range ball. I decided I was just going to let er' rip and see what happened, the ball started out on a direct B-line exactly what I wanted, and i said wow that's gone then after about 130-150 yards through the air this thing hit 4th gear and just took a made dash up for a good 100 yards or so, Im talking way up there, then all of sudden here it comes almost straight down, no roll, just straight down. I didnt know what to think other than that ball had some ridiculous spin on it or that it may have had a cut in it causing it to do that.

Here is a rough sketch of the crazy flight, dont make fun of my drawing lol

Looks like the flight path of something with a TON of backspin.

Alot of people like that ball flight. But im pretty sure it is the spin that causes it to balloon like that. Not 100% sure though

It could be that, all I know is this thing lost a lot of distance when that happened lol

Im pretty sure they wouldnt like this flight, I mean this ball got way up in the air then just died or spin changed and down it went.

Its a wonderful ball flight for irons... not so much for drivers.

I wish i had video of this thing. I mean it was beautiful at the start just penetrating through the air a little lower than normal ball flight then all of a sudden up it goes and just as soon as it reached its peak it traveled a little bit then down it came.

She deff ballooned out on you. I used to have this happen with my war bird every so often, and had it happen a bunch while trying out new drivers with shafts that were not proper for me.

you can only do so much in paint, so line tool it was haha

At first i thought it was a balloon ball but the way this thing went down it made me think other wise, its almost like it was going up then like the spin on the ball switched and down it came faster than normal not like a usual ball dropping from the sky it got down out of the air faster than just a normal ball coming down.

From watching it: was going perfect then the spin on the ball finally kicked in and up it went then spin changed and it just went down fast, idk if that makes since but it dropped faster than normal.

That's what happens when you don't use balanced balls?

You ballooned it, bridges. Starts good, climbs fast, dies fast. That is the definition I got after mistaking my pop-up for ballooning.

Ya it makes since, just wasnt to sure since the amount of speed it went down with. What causes a Balloon drive? shaft has a big part to do with it, but what causes it, to weak of a shaft, to strong, etc..?

Sweet drawing Bridges!

I used to get that ball flight from a Callaway Hawkeye VFT driver I bought used from CGPO. It had a 10* head and a "firm flex" shaft and no matter what I did it would balloon like your drawing. I'd only get 200 yards with it. I sold it on eBay a few weeks later. I haven't had another Callaway driver since.
