The Scariest Sight On The Course

Poor MO, Jeff and Smallie are feeling back about the snow and Smallie talking about cows got me thinking. What are the scariest things you've seen on the course. I saw a hawk with a bloody thing in it's mouth - we played around it. There are water rats that come out at night that scare the daylights out of me - the starter insists they're muskrats, but I think he's lying. I hit my ball near a hornet's nest one day and left it there. I prefer to live. There was also a drunk naked man running up and down the 17th and 18th fairways - that was very scary. What are the scariest sights you've ever seen?

Snakes. I hate snakes.

Lightning

We've seen snakes of course, bobcats(cute little cubs or kittens which ever), coyotes.

The only scary thing was the lightning though.

I carry 3. Let's see - die or carry the epi-pen - no question for me on that one.

They go out of date so fast.I sometimes forget the one in my lunch box I carry at work when I go golfing.Dying is going to happen sometime from something.I try to be prepared but I still forget sometimes.
I hate it..I used to consider them just an annoyance like a skeeter bite.Must of been stung at least 100 times before I became allergic.
Sux a little bug can put you down like that.

I almost died 15 years ago - 2 hornet stings. It's not the way I want to go.

All kinds of wildlife that doesn't scare me, coyotes, bobcats, javelinas, etc. But I hate snakes. I have seen plenty of the poisonous variety when playing in the south and a couple out here in the desert. They always make me jump. However, the scariest thing I have ever seen was the 80 year old cart girl in short shorts and a tank top. http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...bulgy-eyes.png

that alligator that ate that guys arm!

yesterday during my round I saw a hawk killing a little bird standing on top of it. I drove my cart towards him to make him stop but when I got close to him he took off with the little bird.

Lightening, and snakes in that order.

scariest sight on a golf course would be a 240 yard par 3 mostly over water (i.e. binks forest hole #13).

Have you ever used your epi-pen? I've only used mine in the doctor's office - he made me practice in front of him.

Been at home every time it happened and 911 response is great. So being a tight a** I wait for the paramedics and take a chewing out from them. It's usual effect is my blood pressure drops out to the point of barely being consious so I am gambling but hey I won't have to pay any more bills or put up with any more s*** if I lose that hand.

wallyfindme 01-14-2010 04:54 AM

I don't care for snakes.

Worse than that though is what I don't see, but hear near my feet, when trying to find a ball in deep stuff.

I saw a coyote once. I wasn't sure if that was supposed to scare me, but it didn't.

One of the most startling experiences I have had was driving the cart down the fairway and suddenly noticing this huge bullfrog just yards from my wheels! Fortunately I just managed to miss it. I am not scared of frogs, but that shook me up a bit.

And one time when I had missed the green just left there was this really cute little bunny sitting there with this not-so-innocent-looking grin on its bunny-face..... But my ball was nowhere to be found, when it should have easily been 'safe'! Ever since then I have been scared to death of bunnies.

I have a hypotensive reaction too. That is what will kill you before the anaphylaxis does. Are you afraid of the itty bitty needle?

bashansasasasa 01-14-2010 05:02 AM

I just don't know why you can be afraid of a snake you can see.And golfing you usually have a club in your hand.Give em room they'll get out of your way ..they're more afraid of you then you think. Now if you don't see them that's another thing alltogether.

The epi pen isn't an itty bitty needle. It's more like a finish nail.I do take about 200 -300 mg of benadryl as soon as I can after it happens.

It's the thinnest needle I've ever felt. You barely feel it go into your leg.
