Smoking On The Driving Range?
 

I don't smell cigarette smoke or cigar smoke often so when I do it sticks out. that being said while I was at the driving range tonight after I setup my bag and golf balls stretched and prepared to hit golf balls the gentlemen directly to my right lit up a cigar. man did that thing stink. it stunk up the entire range. later on in the evening while I was at the putting green I noticed a couple of people parallel to me smoking cigarettes and I could smell it. I guess in the past I've been extremely lucky cause I haven't had to deal with cigar or cigarette smoke in months and I go the range daily or every other day. and with the new laws I rarely smell cigarette or cigar smoke. anyways my question would be at your local range do u have to deal with cigarette smoke often? and if u are a smoker do u smoke at the range? not a big deal just peaked my interest.

I experience a smoker maybe once a week on the range. I dunno, bugs me more than it probably should.

I have been known to smoke a cigar from time to time, but it's not something I think, I like to do. It's annoying to others who don't smoke. But then again those who smoke are exercising their rights to smoke, even if it might cut their life span short, or cause others to become ill with second hand smoke.

I have, a few times while on the driving range, picked up a bucket of balls and moved to get away from the smokers, and their smell. I watched a flight attendant, and security make a guy get off the plane before we took off because his clothes smelled of smoke.

I smoke Cigars on the course but rarely at the range unless im warming up for a round. However, I have had a few times where I just wanted to get out of the house and have a cigar, so I head to the putting green.
The only people I watch out for are little kids.

being removed from an airplane because your clothing smells like smoke??! wow. sounds like a lawsuit to me. anyways PROV I respect everyone's rights and actually have no problem of anyone smoking on the course or range because it is their right. and I understand they get some kind of enjoyment out of it. if it bothers me I'll politely pick up my things and move. I was just curious of others actions and opinions.

I always feel bad, my rule is that if I light up at the range or green I make sure no one is around me. If they walk up after I have already lit up its at their discretion.
Maybe its just out here, but it seems like a lot of people out here smoke cigars on the putting greens.

In Chicago, it is not their right to smoke in public places. When our driving range stalls are covered on 3 sides, the smokers are often asked by management to put it out. I could care less, I just move a few stalls away if it is bothering me. Moreover, as you alluded to, cigar smoking often goes hand in hand with golf.

I'm not a smoker and I hate the after effects of a night in the pool hall or local tavern. But, come on guy's, were talking outdoors. I can walk a few stalls down or hit the putting green first if someone is impeding on my space, lmao. Right, wrong, good or bad smoker have their rights too.

Here in Nebraska I'd rather raise a fuss about the corn stalk dust in the air, lol.

It was a SWA flight from Vegas to Love field in Dallas. The guy really smelled bad with smoke. He was made to leave because too many passengers complained about him. I had an aisle seat right across from him, and he did smell pretty bad. seat

I'm a smoker, but I always step outside the driving range to smoke.
I can imagine people on the range wouldn't want to inhale my second hand smoke.

Generally I try to be aware of my smoke since cigars are a love it or hate thing.

Cigars, I like to smoke when I'm at the range, or at the practice green. It provides me with a distraction, and I like 'em.

I see others do the same thing. I don't go to any ranges that are really very open, so it doesn't seem to upset anyone.
