Default Handicap Tracker
This was a little different from Leftys, so started a new thread. Another site I use to spend time on had a handicap tracker that was really cool. I don't play in anything that needs a hc, but love keeping one and really like looking at the stat's.

Is it possible we will ever have one on here? Purdy Please??? LOL.

Not only would that be cool, I think, but I think you could actually charge a small subscription, (just for that option).

Just use Golf Channels or Golfsmith.

Thanks, I may give one of these a try. Someone had mentioned Greenskeeper.org earlier in the year so I pluged all my cards into that for this year, but it's really all about Cali golf.

I just hoped we could do something similar here to add a bit of commeradery to a great community here. I think it would be kind of fun to share my stats, good and bad, with other players.

The handicap formula is actually pretty simple. If you have a spreadsheet program such as Excel you can simply put in the formula for getting the differentials and then enter your scores. Once you get it built once, you only have to copy it for each score entered. Then you build the formula to calculate the handicap. That one needs to be manually updated to account for the number of scores, but again, it is pretty basic. Took me about 5 minutes to set up once I had the formulas.

I used digital divot for a while. Then I used oobgolf for a while. Digital Divot worked quite well and was free. oobgolf worked well in tracking all kinds of stuff, but their index was always way off. It used to show me 3-4 strokes better than I actually was. Now I just use GHIN.

Having one on THP is something to look into.

Thanks for the info guy's. I like building spreadsheets and may have to try it just for fun, but was looking more for something a little more interactive with the community. The course I hope to join this year will be tracking it for men's league, but not sure that will show the statistics I like to see. I'll check into GHIN.

Thanks again.

Duey - You can't use GHIN as an individual, but your men's league probably belongs.

I use stracka.com.

You should join one of the Type 3 clubs and that will also give you an official USGA handicap.

They also have some pretty cool stats if you're willing to enter information such as fairways in reg, putts, up-and-down, etc.

That would be a pretty cool feature for THP. I know Greenskeeper has it but their forums are boring and I had an issue with a review I left on there.

I have started using stracka.com this season as well. I've liked it pretty well so far.

I agree with due, that it would be cool to have that functionality here at THP.

I just use my own spread sheet, and the formula. It gets me close enough, and matches the number I have at my home course.

(Score - Course Rating) x 113 / Slope Rating

Here's the rest of it.

Same here, USGA compliant type 3 golf clubs, you can track your stats, and get an "official" handi, all free too.. Don't use it for much else, THP blows the rest out of the water
