Default Long Knocker Prank
I’ve been known to pull a prank or two and I seldom do it on the golf course, but this is one of those I just have to share with all of you.

My playing partner and I were paired with this young guy a few weeks before and after our round we exchanged phone numbers so we could play again. I had seen him in the clubhouse the week before using the sunscreen supplied in the locker room, I only remember because we struck a conversation before we actually met and played and I remember things like that. We made arrangements to play the following weekend and I thought I might have a little fun with this guy we’ll call “Long Knocker.”

In our clubhouse locker room we have the usual assortment of goodies right next to the sink area. The plastic combs soaking in the barbersol, shaving cream, mouthwash, hair gel, sunscreen, etc. The sunscreen and hair gel are in one of those containers that has a pump on it. The two are right next to each other and very similar looking.

I knew “LK” was in the restroom and figured he would use the sunscreen again so I swapped out the pumps for the gel and the sunscreen. I knew there would be just enough gel in the pump to get the job done. I went to my locker and I had a perfect view of the sink, now if he just stuck to his routine. “LK” came out and went to the same sink and washed his hands and then put some sunscreen on, never knowing what he just did. After we exchanged a few words and he walked out, I went and swapped out the pumps again, making sure to clean them up.

Well “LK” was making some pretty interesting facial expressions like someone had placed his face in cast and you are trying to move it around because it’s getting crispy. We let him go on for a few holes and had our fun, laughing about it between holes before we finally told him about the prank. The expression was a bit subdued, but priceless. He wanted to smile, but couldn’t. The gel must have been super firm hold.

He got a good chuckle out of it and he was a good sport about it and we ended playing all summer together.

What are some of the pranks you have played on people?

Hahaha! That is great. I personally can't recall any pranks I've done on the golf course, but that is a good one.

We have done the exploding ball and the wobbly ball. We also do the missing club a lot. Where you pull someones PW out of their bag and hide it in your own or somewhere else. They think they left it somewhere.

We have also done the unzip the holster where the bag is held to watch the bag fall when you drive away. But only in the grass as to eliminate damage.

Back in the day we did that one all the time, seriously, at least once every outing someone's clubs would fall out. None of us had nice clubs back then, I would be pissed if somebody did it now though.

I have a tee that has a flat top (not indented) so the ball will not rest on it. I usually keep it easily accessible in case anyone asks for a tee. It usually takes them a few attempts of trying to tee it up before they figure it out. What I don't get is, when it works on the same person on multiple occassions. Maybe I need new golf buddies....?

Worst one I ever saw (I was not involved) was a guy superglued to his cart seat.

Two buddies and I met up with the cart girl prior to a round and paid her a few bucks to ignore one of our 4-some buddies. On the course she politely asked the three of us what we wanted and served us happily and efficiently. Meanwhile, our pal kept trying to talk to her and order a bloody mary. She just acted like he wasn't there and she didn't even crack a smile.

At first he thought it was funny and kept making faces at us behind her back (you know... the face like "what is this girl's deal?"). Then, as she started to drive away, he kept shouting, "hey... hey... hey." And then followed it up with some choice words. She drove back around on the green of the next hole and we let him in on the joke. We all laughed pretty hard and he tipped her well for "joking him." All was well.

I saw a bunch of guys on a company golf outing place their bosse's par three tee shot in the hole to make him think he had made a hole in one. I just happened to know their boss, and was near the green on other business when this happened. To this day he still thinks he made HIO, and even has score card trophy to attest to the (not so) fact. I'll never tell him.

Secrets always have a way of coming out. I doubt anyone will be laughing when this one does.

I've been party to a brick going in the bottom of someone's bag before. That's quite funny when you're walking. Less funny was an occasion when someone put a kipper in someone's bag. The bag was ruined and the grips needed replacing. Fortunately the smell came out of the clubs themselves.

The deer urine used by deer hunters as a scent blocker works well, but I wouldn't recommend it. I put it on a guy's sweat bad that was attached to his welding helmet years ago, we could hardly work anywhere close to him even after he threw the band away, haha.

I think I have a pretty good sense of humor, but some of the pranks listed above would really test it!

Well of course like JB said there is always the unhooking of the strap that holds your clubs on the cart. It really never gets old.
We did a good one a few months ago. We got this key chain that beeps when you whistle. We clipped it to his bag.We had that thing beeping the whole round when he would go to tee off or hit from the fairway and he was clueless but it was driving him nuts. I guess they got him with it again the next round and finally told him but I wasnt there.

Only problem with doing that is if you get mud or grit inside the holes that the spikes go in, it can be a devil's own job to get it out again. Might not see the funny side if that happens.

I am loving the harmless simplicity of this prank. I had the misfortune of attempting to use a tee that was 'improperly finished' on the first tee during one of my rounds this year. The ball just couldn't sit on it, and I absolutely lost it () trying to tee my ball over and over, questioning my nerves and sanity... I don't normally care about embarassing myself in front of strangers, but I did then... After I finally figured it out, I hit a lovely 30 yard tee shot into the bushes.....

Easy one for us is when we are coming up on our ball in the middle of the fairway.. We know it should be 240 dead center and their is our friend not looking for it as hard as we are....

He lets us look for a couple of minutes.

Not until he drives off do I see about 30% of the ball sticking out of the ground from where he put his back tire right on top of it...
