Good for her. Throw the bum out.
http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=4750352 Elin Nordegren, the wife of Tiger Woods, will seek a divorce, ABC News.com is reporting. A source close to Nordegren told the Web site on Wednesday that a "divorce is 100 percent on." |

I'd say the divorce benefits her by getting rid of a cheating husband. Now she's going divorce. Is it simply that she's had enough, and walk away (with whatever is appropriate per the prenup), or is there a hole in the prenup where she can cash in? The answer there tells you if it's a gold-digging situation or not - but my thought is that she's doing the right thing here. |

I'm not surprised she would want the divorce...however, if the reports about the new pre-nup are true that she would receive an additional $50 million if she stuck with him for 2 years, it is a little surprising she is moving on the divorce already.
Good for her...although to be honest, I probably would've stuck it out for 2 years for $50 million. That's a lot of coin. |

I just drafted a pre-nup for someone that had a "cheater's clause" in it. She was to receive a certain amount of money depending on the length of the marriage, but it was increased dramatically if he was caught cheating.
I represented the wife and told her I didn't know if it would hold up in court or not, but she insisted on having it in there. |

Not like Tiger is the 1st High Profile athlete to get a divorce. And a technical ? What % does a lawyer get out of something like this normally? |

I meant monetarily. There was a prenup, if she lasted 10 years she got a chunk of change. They were renegotiating it last week, to increase the money and bring down the 'tenure' required. Im sure there will be a squabble over it but shes probably going after it more for her kids and to kick Tiger in the nuts. What can you really do to hurt tiger? The dude seems pretty soulless as it is and he probably only cares about winning and money. |

You can call me whatever you want for that kind of money. I'd never go seek out someone just because they had money, but if I was married to someone who promised to give me $50 million just to stick around 2 more years, I'd probably do it. ![]() |

I think this is probably the best thing for both of them at this point. Obviously his indiscretions are too big to be repaired. I am sure she will get enough out of it (and did not she already have money?) so maybe that is not the issue here. Moving on w/ their lives will be best for both of them. |

I dont think money will be a big deal. She's from a very rich family in Sweden. I think Winning and breaking all of Golfs Records are the most important thing to him. W/ this he can move on to that and the endorsements will come back to him as this all blows over and he keeps winning. This will only serve to make him more human in most peoples eyes- look at John Daly. |

Divorce lawyers aren't allowed to receive a percentage of the property a person receives in a divorce...at least in MN they aren't. We have to bill hourly. Thanks |

At this point I do not think Tiger is all about Money. He has already won enough to never have to play golf again - even w/ his sponsorship losses and alimony. |
